I have been going to Nanni for 16 years. It is absolutely the most delicious Italian food in New York. Not cheap but well worth it. It's small so it can get a little loud when the tables are full. Th decor is simple but you are there for the food!!! The Nanni pasta is outstanding as is the milanesa and don't forget the sauted escarole. Italian waiters are charming.
Very authentic food, warm, friendly staff.
The bread was delicious, food served hot and very tasty. Very easy to over eat and we had no room for dessert! The Chianti was special. If I lived and worked nearby, this would be an everyday lunch for me. A must stop for the New York visitor, go for lunch unless you have reservations for dinner.
The other reviews are accurate. This is a no nonsense Italian food with a sense of humor. The waiters are in their 70's and have been working there on average 20+ years. THey have personality and passion.Everything is good. If the waiter makes a suggestion go with it unless it is a food you really don
