Garage Restaurant and Cafe, New York

Love this place!: My husband and I have gone there for years and the food is delicious! They have great appetizers, main course meals, and desserts. Nice atmosphere with someone usually playing the piano or singing a jazzy song on a stage by the bar. In the summer you can sit outdoors for a view of all the fabulous looking people walking down the street. Can be a little pricey, a FULL meal with drinks and dessert was $120 for two...not to bad considering your in the heart of Greenwich Village.

Despite the unlikely name, this is a great jazz club. They've got good food, good drink and good music. Who could ask for anything more? I've always found the wait staff to be quite friendly and professional.

I was very disappointed with my visit at “The Garage” restaurant in New York. The waitress failed to bring the right order. I have finished my breakfast and ten minuets latter they finally brought my coffee. We have to ask four times to order some other drinks and when I complained to the manager he told me that I am too mean. Very an organize place. They even gave me a wrong bill. I don’t recommend the place. Don’t waist your money there.

Music was great, we had the best seat in the house and the food was unbelievable! I highly recommend this place. No cover charges as well.

I took my parents for their anniversary last year since they have a jazz band. It ended up being during gay pride week and it was very colorful in there. My father was enjoying his food, drink and music so the other goings on didn't bother him at all. We had a great time. The food was good, the drinks were tasty, the band did it's thing and as I've said in my other reviews, I'll be back. Check out the website for more info. By the way, if you have an issue with gay couples, etc. Don't go there. Personally, I couldn't care less. I like the place and love the Village.

The food was good - my boyfriend and I both had seafood and it was very fresh and prepared simply but nicely. The server was wonderful - just attentive enough to do the job and not at all pushy or intrusive. The jazz was awesome - the first band was very mellow and the second band much more exciting. Very romantic setting. If you can, definitely make reservations.

Food was great, the service ti very friendly... The band was hit or miss, but the second floor makes for a great romantic spot on 7th Ave.

This place is one of my favorites. They have great jazz musicians often playing, the drinks are made perfectly and the food is delicious. I often eat my meals at the bar and it's a great place to relax with good friends. Friendly staff is definitely one of the selling points. Check it out sometime. The prices aren't too bad either (for a NY restaurant).
