Pellegrinos Restaurant Italian Seafood Pasta
This tourist destination in the heart of Little Italy epitomizes the festive fun that makes the area so popular. How can you go wrong with dishes like Linguine alla Sinatra (shrimp, clams, mussels, mushrooms and pine nuts in a red sauce), or Fettuccine Giovanni (asparagus, prosciutto and sweet peppers in a cheese sauce)? The outdoor tables are ideal for watching the passing crowds while you sample some coffee and dessert-try the cannoli. Take out and delivery are available for lunch.
This place is a two star restaurant with three star prices. We came in from Jersey for a bachelorette party and were expecting good Italian food. I'm Italian, so I'm a harsh critic, and the food was a disappointment. The service was lacking, too. My friend has dietary restrictions and she asked for a modification of a dish. When the waiter came out with her meal, she asked him to confirm that the changes were made and he said he forgot to ask the chef. So we were all sitting with our meals waiting for hers to be redone. We had to ask twice for olive oil--OLIVE OIL--at an Italian restaurant!!!! My veal was bland and the vegetables were steamed...very amateur. Go to one of the other places that has the same number of stars and costs less. Oh, and lastly, on one of THE hottest days of the year, I think that the a/c was out because we were all dripping in sweat.
The food was excellent at Pellegrinoa, and so was the service, they were very attentive. For appetizers, we had the fried mozerella, so light and fresh, delicious and the ceasar salad, and I had the chicken parm, perfection!! Nothing wrong with this restaurant.
