Nice Green Bo Restaurant, New York

I loved this place until I found a roach in the spinach. I really wish I never saw it.

This little gem tucked away in Chinatown is one of the few great Shanghainese DimSum joints in America. It's a different style of dim sum than the Cantonese serve. Food is made to order and there are several steamed and smoked options (the smoked fish or eel is incredible. Dumplings and scallion pancakes are also superb. You won't get fancy service, but it's fast and the place is clean and bright. Don't be surprised if you (and your small party) are seated at a larger table.

The food is remarkably delicious. It usually comes rather quickly and there is rarely a wait. At other times, the food is very slow. Drinks seem to be scarce as well as good service. At times the waitresses will never come to the table to bring drinks or refill the drinks already there. Beware of the difficult times asking for water. Despite these negative factors, New Green Bo offers city-goers a cheap Chinese lunch or even dinner. If you're in the area, stop by and have a look. It's probably the most bang for your buck in Chinatown.

This is a crowded small place. The emphsis is on eating and you will not be disappointed. But do not go there for a romantic get-together or a Starbucks style hang out. You may even share the table with Strangers. The dumplings and scallion pancakes were great.

This place is definitely WORTH the wait for its authentic shanghai cuisine!!! You won't break the bank grubbin' at this dumplin' dive, so ORDER: juicy steamed pork soup dumplings (pronounced SHAO-LONG-PAU); deep-fried yellow fishsticks wrapped in seaweed & chinese spinach sauteed in garlic (pronounced ONG-CHOY)
