Salaam Bombay - Tribeca, New York

I was given a $30 buywithme coupon as a gift and ended up spending $74 in food and drink on lunch. However, before deducting the coupon, which they forgot to do even though I presented it before ordering, they charged the tax and an 18% service charge, basically ripping me off for $8.12. I think it was really ballsy to charge a service fee on a party of 2 diners. In addition, they didn't let you order the buffet, which is clearly what every other diner was having, when using the $30 coupon and their lunch prices would make for an expensive dinner menu at any Indian restaurant in the City - and we were having lunch. The tables are too close together and every time the diners at the next table got up to fill his plate, again, from the buffet, I was subjected to their sizable derrières in my face. The service was slow, especially in the beginning while we patiently awaited menus, and there was no reason to forget about the voucher. I only gave them a 1 because of the check calculation rip-off - other than that the service was ok. The food was adequate but very fattening and without a lot of flavor. I don't think a return visit is in my future.

The curry goat was exquisite. Also the soupy rice with the mucky sauce of unknown origin was a treat. I went here 2 days ago and my clothes still smell like the place! The food was relatively cheap and was worth the diarrhea and hershey squirts I experienced.

overpriced with mediocre food at best. no hot towels or finger bowls which are typical for this price range Indian restaurants.

Food is okay, not very flavorful. Ambience is quite good. I asked them a different spice leve, and didn't seem to make a difference at all.

this is a must stop for authentic Indian. Delicious Tandoori!

A great restaurant with superb quality food

If you like Indian cuisine, curry , I mean hurry, right over to Salaam Bombay for a delicious meal your whole family will love!

Just happened to had food from Salaam Bombay located in NY, actually, one of my friend coming back to india had brought it. And trust me, I used to think that leaving the shore will include leaving my taste buds behind, but you people got to try this out. It's awsome even after the tenure of the flight the food was really good.

I'VE BEEN COMING TO THIS RESTAURANT FOR YEARS.....AND IT SEEMS TO KEEP GETTING BETTER AND BETTER. ASIDE FROM THE AMAZING BUFFET.....YOU MUST GO THERE FOR DINNER AND TRY THE ADRAK KE PANJE AND SURTI THALI. THE BEST INDIAN FOOD I'VE EVER HAD AND BELIEVE ME I'VE BEEN TO MANY. ATMOSPHERE AND SERVICE MATCH THE EXCELLENCE OF THEIR FOOD

This restaurant is my family's favorite restaurant. We have been dining here for years and never been disappointed. Vikas Khanna is like family to us and has always known our favorites and made us feel very welcome.
