Nobu Next Door

Description

Nobu Next Door, which opened as an extension of the original Nobu, has now taken on a life of its own. Opened in 1998 due to high demand, its menu mirrors the original Nobu and offers Nobu To Go. With its late night dining and music, Nobu Next Door tends to draw a more spirited crowd. The restaurant satisfies those spontaneous diners who need the Nobu fix, but didn't plan ahead, by offering first come, first serve table seating between the hours of 7:00pm and 9:00pm. Nobu Next Door received a three star review from The New York Times. Designed by architect David Rockwell, Nobu Next Door evokes the Japanese seaside: Japanese fishing nets hang from the ceiling and a wall made of nori (Japanese seaweed) blankets the entrance. There is also a huge display of lit sake bottles--the classic accompaniment to Japanese food. The atmosphere buzzes with the same energy and excitement as Nobu yet definitely maintains an identity all its own.

Best sushi of my life
By ,
If you can get in, this is an amazing place for sushi. It is very expensive but you will not find anything better in the city (or the world?). I was there a few years ago an dthe amaebi lightly serared by the hot olive oil drizzled on top stands out as the best sushi I have ever had.

Perfect every time

I'm a frequent patron of Nobu because the food is always delicious and the service superb. It is a little pricey, but as long as we all remember we're worth it- Nobu is an amazing experience. I especially like sitting in the back, your privacy is always guarnteed.

Still the Best
By ,
Although the competition has gotten stiffer, Nobu is still the place to go for an amazing Japanese gastronomic experience. The chef's tasting menu, although pricey ($120, $100 or $80 version) is the draw. I was treated to Nobu for my last birthday and consider my meal (the $100 tasting menu) to be among the most memorable of my life.

We're Definitely Going Back
By ,
Sushi places are so pervasive that it takes a lot to stand out. The food at Nobu is top rate - the spider rolls are superb - as is the service. Taking that in combination with its unique ambience - the size and shape of the restuarant in particular - make Nobu a definitely memorable place.

some of the best Japanese food in NYC
By ,
I Nobu is a Japanese resturant yes there is some sushi but the also have Kobe steak and more cooked dishes than sushi. This is the place to go to see Celebrities last time I was there I saw some of the NY Yankees. Donald Trump also is seen at the upscale resturant every once and awhile. The food is great the Koi pond with the giant budda is amazing. The cost is a lil prices but you will not soon forget the night at Nobu.
