Five Points Restaurant
This upscale yet fairly casual spot is named after a former Lower East Side neighborhood, where sin and crime reigned unchecked. The restaurant is located in trendy Noho, which is nowhere near where the Five Points neighborhood once stood. Regardless, it offers excellent food and service to a hip crowd. The menu offers such interesting and tasty dishes as Quail Choucroute, Marguez Sausage-Stuffed Grape Leaves, lobster salad, grilled whole fish, and lamb stew with yogurt and hummus.
I love 5 points. Everytime I've gone back for brunch, I've had a different menu item and each time it continues to impress. Its a very trendy yet serene spot. The host is very accomodating and its overall a great experience.
The lighting for me makes a difference in setting the mood, and the glamour of the plate presentation. The atmosphere was friendly and you could feel the energy people were having a great time, with enough space for yourself.
Good restaurant with a variety of items on the menu. We had 5 people at dinner and everyone's meal was very good - no complaints. I had the steak and it was cooked perfectly. The atmosphere and the decor was great. It definitely didn't make you feel like you were eating in a New York restaurant. Apparently there is a pretty good bar scene there too but I was there a little too early for that.
