Angelo of Mulberry St Incorporated

Description

Established in 1902, this is Little Italy's oldest existing restaurant. It has captured the hearts of generations with its friendly atmosphere and casual elegance. And after all these years, the Italian food remains well above average. Southern Italian specials add to the extensive menu. Angelo's also feature the usual assortment of pasta, veal and chicken dishes. Paintings of Italy adorn the walls, and white cloth cover tables look elegant in this softly lit restaurant.

What an amazing culinary experience. The food is rich of authentic flavor and so is the service. We were treated in a very hospitable manner even when we were obviously not the most wealthy looking of the bunch (we have been clearly overlooked because of this before). Our waiter was extremely attentive and he took everyone's needs in the table into consideration including my baby boy. The food is high end yet the prices, even though they are not the lowest, feel affordable for the amount and quality of the food and the overall experience.

Best authentic Italian in NYC--hands down!! Service was very good & accomadating and food was excellent! Portions were very generous. The cannoli for dessert was the best I ever had. Only downside, was the restaurant is kinda small so you are packed in and can get noisy. Also was a little on the pricey side. Other than that my experience was a good one and will go back if I ever get back to NYC on vacation.

Absolutely the best meal I have ever had - try the Rigatoni alla Vodka. That with the Asparagi Burro e Parmigiano was wonderful - can't wait to come back to New York!!!!

Fun place to dine with a large crowd but don't expect authentic italian food. The pasta is not homemade and the decor is typical of Little Italy. We don't mind the food but the crowds on the weekends coupled it the heat is unbearable. This would be a good weekday or weeknigh place to dine but avoid on weekends or at least on Saturdays!

Food was great. Greeter for lunch on Thursday,July 3, not Antoine, was insulting about our party and the President being from Texas. Server barely acknowledged us. We had to ask for service once salads were delivered and then plates to be removed. The server confronted us about the 10% tip he received, complaining he should have gotten 15% including sales tax. I told him he was lucky to get a tip and he proceeded to argue with us in the front door. We originally planned to visit again before leaving the area, but not now. Over the last several years, we have sent dozens of family & friends visiting NY there, but never again.

This Place was Exellant! My Whole family enjoyed it, Not only was the service great, the food exceeded my expectations, which were high. It was a wonderful expereiance and I hope all who dine here have the same and perhaps (if posiable) a beter time. My recomondations, Try the veal with lunguini maranara and the Ravioli ala Vodka. For dessert, Coffee and taramiso(sorry if i misspelled it). P.S The Port Wine Was Exceptional!
