Off the Wagon
If you want to quit drinking, think twice about having a main bar party at Off the Wagon. You won't succeed. This bar is the busiest, most popular bar in Greenwich Village for good reason. To fit all our thirsty clients, we built a bar with ceilings two stories high and a New Orleans style balcony that overlooks the main room. Off the Wagon is famous for strong drinks and lightning-fast bartenders. There are two bars (one upstairs and one on the main level) and five bartenders who party with you every drink of the way.
A great place to keep up with the scores and highlights for the night, but it tends to get a little too crowded for it's own good. It got louder than I thought it should've, too. But there's a pool table upstairs, which is a definate plus. The crowd, everytime I've been there, has been a bit on the older side, which is kinda weird.
You get a lot of NYU students here in the fall and winter, but fortunately, a good number of them are ladies so it makes for a nice crowd. The drinks specials are great - especially if you get there for happy hour. It can get packed, but it's almost always a good time.
