we need one in san diego, the best dogs ever eaten! please bring one to san diego

Best hot dog for cheap! When my cousin comes into NY to visit us she always makes us come here. She lives in Florida so I guess Papaya's is a delicacy to her.

This is a pretty good place if you want to get a quick meal. The dogs are good and the toppings keep getting replaced. The sweet krout is a good change of pace too. I would not recommend the papaya drink though. . .

This is another one of those things you just have to do in NYC, food-wise, anyway - try the hot dogs at the places with papaya in their name. Most folks from outta town also try the papaya drink - once. These are expensive hot dogs - a single dog right now id 50 cents - two dogs and a drink is only $2.50. These dogs are smaller than most dogs you'll find elsewhere, and they've done this to keep'em cheap - they were once the standard size. They have a variety of toppings, including chili, which is a little thin, but has some flavor. The cooked onions and kraut together with brown mustard is a good combo. No seating, but these small dogs don't take long to finish. A hot dog for 50 cents. Wow.

Man I have many of stories about late late late night's after clubbin all night and going to Gray's to get the poor man special plus one....don't forget the pineapple, coconut juice......ummmmmmm

How this brings me back! As a high school student living in Central NJ, we used to go into the city to shop and it always included a stop at Gray's Papaya. The hot dogs were always fresh, juicy and just plain delicious! Even to people who aren't normally fans of hot dogs. Funny thing is, my son is starting Columbia University and we were just telling him that the best hotdogs are at Gray's Papaya!!

Where else can you at 3:00 on a Sunday morning to buy 3 hot dogs, fountain soda and bottled water for less than $10?! Nowhere! It was the best!

great hot dog! the outer coating is snappy, rather than the mushy kind sold at most hot dog stands. i dont know the current price, but i know they have been raising it due to the economy. but compared to the $2 for one hotdog sold in all the other hotdog stands near it, this is still the best bargain. **notice- if you are getting the 2 hotdog and rink combo, eat one hot dog in the pub first! otherwise it is very very difficult to juggle 2 hotdogs AND a drink
