Mesa Grill, New York

Food was amazing. My family went there for lunch and we ate off of the brunch menu. Had spicy chicken and sweet potato hash which was great. I also had the fundido as an appetizer which tasted great, but I think you could somewhat get the same course at another restaurant so I wish I ordered something else. The atmosphere was lively and overall great. Service was fast, well timed, and very nice in general. Will surely be back in the near future!

Very dissappointed. Veal chop was so overcooked, considering I ordered it med-rare. Sent it back, finally got my dinner when the rest of my table was done eating. What a terrilbe experience at such an expensive price, and not even an apology from the chef! THe waiter offered me more water instead. So overpriced and overrated. Will definetely NOT recommend it to anyone.

We have been there twice and both times the food was amazing! If you like steak get it from here; it has a really tasty rub on it and is delcious. Desserts and good too. A bit pricy but if your looking for a nice place for dinner I would reccomend it.

All my Mom talked about when coming to visit me in New York was how bad she wanted to eat at Bobby Flay's Mesa Grill. I took her there for her birthday and it was absolutely terrible!!! Big disappointment! Don't recommend to anyone.

Had high expectations but was somewhat disappointed. My wife and I were on our honeymoon and made reservations at Bobby's place. Everything started off fine. Decor was great. Bobby Flay was actually at the table next to ours and was entertaining the folks there. Our waiter seemed more interested in his boss's table than ours. He wasn't even their waiter but he spent more time over there than at our table. He rarely checked on us. He might have said 2 words to us all night and we had to flag down other servers just to get drinks and appetizers ordered. The Food: wasabi mashed potatoes I think?? They were good. I had the NY Strip with them. VERY DISAPPOINTED in the steak. Very. Was a below average steak and it was what our waiter suggested. Not much flavor and the meat wasn't really juicy at all. Was overcooked. The sauce with it was good though. My wife had the chicken and it was average as well. She at a couple of bites. Here stuffed tamale corn concoction was delicious though. Best thing we ate all night. The sides were all great and the entres were all average. Best part of the night was our after diner drinks. I order a scotch on the rocks. The thing was massive. Had to have been 4 or 5 shots in it. It was still only $12 or so. I don't know if it was because they realized we had been getting the shaft or they always make drinks like that, however, it was the largest scotch I have ever seen. I was delighted. We will give MESA a second chance next time we are in NYC. We may have had a bad server and he could have left our food in the window to long or something. I am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. However, we will definately be ordering different items this time!!!

my sister and i had won a trip for two to new york. included in this trip was a dinner to the mesa grill. my sister and i were so excited to try some of this wonderful food. unexpected, we were sadly dissapointed in this place. first, our waiter was so busy he nearly forgot about us all together. when we finnally did get our meal my salmon was cod and raw inside the middle even though i asked for well done salmon. the bean salad i had got tasted like it came from a can. my sister's meal was like a big hunk of rubber not fillet. also, the desserts were very plain and tasted as if they came from a box. the mesa grill also knows how to pack the people in, we basically sat right on top of the guests next to us. the only thing that was decent were the drinks. i hope bobby flay will look into this because he would be extremly embarresed. i would say pay for what you want go somewhere else.

Food was excellent! Even though we were there on a Saturday and the place was completely packed, the service was still awesome. I highly recommend the pork tenderloin.

All the reviews about rude staff are false. We went there for Sunday brunch and from the moment we walked in we were treated with respect and exceptional service. The waiter offered suggestions and even brought us a free appetizer for no reason! We highly recommend the eggs and sweet potato hash. I would definitely recommend this to anyone. Can't wait to try it again for dinner!
