A lttle taste of Chinatown on South Williams Street! I've worked in the area for 9 years and Number One is a reliably good meal anytime of the year. I always bring guests there for lunch. It's fast, good service and the prices are very reasonable. The food is always fresh and served while hot.
Seriously...this is the highest quality Chinese food I've had in Manhattan. I've tried a LOT of restaurants, and there are many that are good. However, this restaurant is the best. The appearance may not be impressive, but the food sure is! The sauces are thick and fresh, not at all watered down or gooey like so many other restaurants. The chicken they use is also excellent quality. I'd given up on General Tao's & Sesame Chicken dishes because so many places used nasty cuts of chicken, but this restaurant uses white meat! Truly outstanding! Great for dine in and delivery!
