One of America's most beloved restaurants, Gramercy Tavern has welcomed guests for close to two decades to enjoy seasonal American cuisine, warm hospitality and unparalleled service. The restaurant is perennially ranked at the top of Zagat Survey's 'Most Popular' list, and has garnered eight James Beard Awards including 'Outstanding Restaurant' and 'Best Chef: NYC'. Chef Michael Anthony's highly seasonal menu consists of elegant dishes with a rustic influence that showcase the restaurant's relationships with local farms and purveyors. The Main Dining Room serves prix-fixe menus starting at $92 for dinner and an a la carte menu for lunch, and accepts reservations 28 days in advance. The more casual Tavern serves an a la carte menu centered around the wood burning grill, and welcomes guests on a walk-in basis. The restaurant also features an acclaimed wine list, and thoughtfully selected beer and cocktail offerings.
Everything was wonderful includiong the interesting array of Martinis - some even wtih Plymouth's Gin. Sevice was the best.Food selection, presentation and preparation certainly ranks very high not only for NYC but for the entire country. I will be back next summer, for sure. Can't even think who is in second place. WRA.
Beautiful setting in the dining room... makes you feel as though you've left the city and are in a country lodge or estate. We had the summer tasting menu, the best lamb I've ever tasted. Service was quite good, although I've had better at some true top-line places (I'd say Per Se was better). The wine list and server's help with the wine was another high point.
Overall, an excellent way to spend our anniversary.
Ok I was able to eat like a millionaire last nite with my job. This place is simply divine. The presentation of the meals are splendid. The service was magnificent. I absolutely ADORED IT. Ya'll need to use your next tax return and spend some money to know how Im feeling right now. I have no words for this place......... other than I love, love, love it!
I had always heard about Gramercy's cheese and dessert selections, but found the experience exceeded my imagining! We also had dinner there, but if you are on a budget, opt for selecting some cheeses and a wonderful dessert for a treat on a night out! You won't be dissappointed!!
I love to feel filled with luxury and Gramercy Tavern does it all.
A great selection of aines, beautiful people and such delicious food that I am tempted into eating lots of new flavors.
This restaurant makes me enjoy life.
I had a chance to go to this restaurant when my grandmother and I decided to go somewhere nice for fun one evening. We had a great time together, and she came home saying it was the best meal she had eaten in quite a while. We both had the tasting menu (something we both really enjoy), and the waiter kindly let us substitute one of the selections for something we'd like more. I also had a wine tasting along with the tasting menu, and our waiter paired each glass expertly with the meal, it was a true delight. The meal was a tad expensive, but that was to be expected. The ambiance was extremely pleasant, with plenty of room and a lovely setting. Overall we had a great time, and would be extremely likely to return.
