The food was very creative, and interesting but the service was very poor. Very disappointed with the service and staff.

The Sushi Sambas continue to dance after being one of the earlier Asian/Latin fusion restaurants in NYC. The quality of the sushi still remains high with excellent variations on rolls tinged with South American spices. Try the sushi and ceviches here. Service has dropped a bit since the last time I as here. It still gets pretty frenetic and packed though. The space continues to be attractive.

"Very lively crowd, service and the location is a bit tight but drinks are one of the tastiest in the city and sushi is superb. The next door lounge, Sugarcane, is a great place to meet for drinks before dinner (...and it might be worth it to stay and eat at Sugarcane, very delicious)"

"The food is very good, of course, with interesting combinations, but the restaurant is a bit pretentious, having people stand at a velvet rope outside when there are clearly empty tables inside. "
