Paisanos, Stewartsville

the food here is either tasteless or full of salt! we went for my birthday and i was really looking foward to eating out. i have tasted better food out of a jar ( which i never use ) i cook a lot and make everything homemade. this food was such a let down. do not waste your money! i wish we had gone someplace else ...anywhere else!

We moved from Brooklyn, N.Y., to Phillipsburg two years ago. We know good Italian food and resturants. Paisano's is the only place we go for Italian food in the area and, to tell you the truth, I don't miss the Italian food in Brooklyn since discovering Paisanos. Paisano's is that good. Guests are greeted by the owners when they enter this fine establishment. The wife monitors the dining area and runs the bar, and the husband works with the chef in the back. The ambiance is a softly lit dining area with wood tables and Italian background music. It's a small place, very comfortable. It's quiet and cosy. There is a deck for dining outside, in the back, with a view of the stream. It's a beautiful place to enjoy a fine Italian meal. The bar has a nice selection. There are food specials offered every night that we have been there and I tend to try them. I have never been disappointed. The regular menu has favorite staples of our dining, too. My daughter thinks that Paisanos serves the best chicken cutlet parm on earth. The owners are very proud of their establishent. They would be appalled if you were not completely satisfied and did not inform them. Just writing about this great resturant makes me want to go there. Lunch, tomorrow! I am not one to recommend much of anything to anyone. That said, I highly recommend Paisanos. It's a nice place owned by nice people that serve quality Italian food at a decent price. P.S. The wait staff are always pleasant and courteous and the restrooms are imaculate. Killer deserts, served with pride, for those that dare...

If you want quality, homemade, Italian food at an amazing price this is the right place! It always reminds me of being in a small family owned restaurant in Italy. I have even missed the food here while traveling in Europe. Sit outside by the river if the weather permits.

The other reviewers must have been paid to write their reviews. My wife and I went to Paisano's to celebrate her birthday. The service was the best part of the meal. There was little flavor in any of the dishes. No garlic and insufficient salt. Their olive oil must have been from the last press. Fried calamari was greasy and tasteless. Dishes were prepared with canned mushrooms, the salad was only mediocre and there was no Italian dressing (as Americans know it) to be had. My cream and bacon pasta sauce tasted like pure cream. The side order of meatballs had the consistency and taste of something bought frozen in the grocery store. It was difficult to identify the ingredients in the chicken breast with cheese and ham stuffing and it was practically tasteless as well. I doubt I've ever had a worse Italian meal. And this one was relatively expensive. $70 for two, which included one beer and a lemonade. We would have been better off with Chinese takeout.

Moved to the area last year, my wife and I are picky when it comes to Italian food, as we are both true italians. we couldn't find anything in the area to our liking, until we found this place. Small, and simple and the food is excellent, as is the service.

If you like Italian Food like Momma use to make, there's a little place on South Main Street Stewartsville that has the best Pasta Fagioli, Seafood, and Chicken dishes that are out of this world. You owe it to yourself to give this place a try. Friendly family atmosphere and service is excellent Bon Appetite

this is probably the best Italian restaurant around. you NEVER GET A BAD MEAL AND REASONABLY PRICED.

Family dining at it's best. Great service, excellent prices and most of all real good food. Also, one of the best things is that you are not rushed to pick something and then rushed out the door. We have had a cross section of the menu over the past few months and every thing we ordered was always to our liking. The Pasta E Fagioli is delicious every time. If you do not see an Italian dish on the menu that you like, just ask and the chef will prepare the entree to your liking.

Bigger isn't always better. If you like homemade ITalian food, with reasonably priced wine, this place is a good pick. The owners name is Jason and he is from New York, they have the BEST pizza in the area. ITs a little hard to find the place, and its out of the way, but its worth the trip
