Thursday evening, a group of 13 friends had dinner together at the Avanti and were pleased, not only with the attentive wait staff, but the tasty and bountiful servings we each received. Some of us ordered the extra blue cheese on our salad, and those that didn't all agreed they would not make that mistake again, even if it did cost extra. What we asked for, we got - extra garlic, bread, water, and attention. We ate, laughed, and drank our wine, then topped things off with yummy desserts. I can't wait to get back and try the different appetizers.
Went here with 4 others with a reservation and thought the food was very bland, nothing special. It could have been a better experience if it wasnt for the hostess. She was very rude when seating us, and gave some dirty look like we were crazy because we brought an extra person with us. Not a friendly place at all to be in
I recently ate dinner at Avanti. The food was excellent, very fresh and delicious. But the service was horrible. Our server was downright rude and unfriendly. I don't think he ever cracked a smile. I would not go back. He ruined the entire dining experience. What a shame, I like to support local businesses, especially in this bad economy, but he clearly doesn't value his customers.
This was my 5th trip to Avanti, but first for dinner. The lunches were all superb but would dinner be just as good? No, even better!
Warm bread, excellent service, fabulous food, cozy atmosphere, and BYOB prices make this bistro a perfect 5 star value!
The dinner menu is much more extensive than lunch and full of fantastic combinations including a framaggio trufflini appetizer that included truffle oil, honey, and cheese.
Shrimp with garlic mashed potatoes in a cream sauce...not for the faint of heart or diet conscious, but definitely a taste bud wake up call.
The chicken, sausage, green pepper, the onion, and potatoes dish was simply perfectly prepared.
If there was one limitation to the menu it would have to be the dessert menu which I found a little lacking in inspiration when compared to the dinner menu.
I've been here twice in the past 2 months, both times for lunch, and both excellent experiences. The menu (focused on Italian selections) looks good, but both times I've ordered specials (an extensive list (10-15 dishes) is available daily), and they've been excellent! Specials are typically in the $8-14 range, and in my opinion are well worth it. The desserts are excellent too, try to save some room for them!
