Knife & Fork Inn
Under the direction of new owner Frank Dougherty, the legendary Knife & Fork has just completed an extensive renovation aimed at restoring and enhancing this Atlantic City landmark. Featuring a brand new, state-of-the-art kitchen, expanded bar and lounge area, as well as ocean views from the main dining rooms, the Knife & Fork is once again the place to see and be seen in Atlantic City. The Knife & Fork's new menu, featuring the finest steaks and seafood prepared on a wood-fired grill, is complemented by an extensive wine list and 10,000 bottle wine "cellar." The Knife & Fork is now offering lunch every Friday from 11:30-4:30 pm. It's the perfect spot to celebrate the end of the work week or get a jump start on your weekend. The Dougherty family, owners of the other Atlantic City dining landmark, Dock's Oyster House, invite you to visit them at their newest location
I had heard very good things about the Knife and Fork Inn, so my wife and I, as well as a couple of friends from out of town decided to go in to try it out for restaurant week for lunch. The service was horrible! We had to wait almost an hour for the salad, and another 45 minutes for the entree. Our pre-ordered dessert had to be boxed up because we ran out of time, and my wife returned to work over 1.5 hours late. I complained about the slow service to the waitress. Her only response was a lot of attitude, and she told me there wasn't anything she could do about it, because the kitchen was running slow. I was very disappointed with the service, and caution other diners to consider going to one of the many other good restaurants the city has to offer.
Owned by the Dougherty family of Dock's Oyster House, the Knife & Fork has been totally remodeled. An Atlantic City institution for 80 years, you will love the steaks and the service. A little pricey, but well worth it for a special occasion. Right where Atlantic meets Pacific, the building design is very unique. Plenty of parking, or walk down from the Hilton or the Tropicana or hop on a Jitney. No matter how you get there, you'll love the Knife & Fork!
