You might be hard pressed to find a great Mexican restaurant this far from the border, but patrons to this location will be surprised to find excellent entree's combined with an excellent price. The restaurant serves up all that you might expect from a classic Mexcian joint, but with all the people inside, they seem to be doing something a little better than all the rest. However, because of its popularity, it does get a little loud. Nonetheless, this makes for a great, quick bite if you're on the run, or a relaxing meal without all the fuss.
My family and I are from the south- where great Mexican food is abundant- have been searching for a NJ restaurant that serves athentic Mexican food- We found it here!!!!! One of the best meals that we have ever had- the very best mexican food we have ever put in our mouths- and two of us have even dined in Mexico! This is top notch- homeade everything- so thankful! We will go back!!!!!!
Too often does Mexican food appear to be mountainous plates of unidentifiable slop swimming in dark pools of liquid. This restaurant is refreshingly different. Clean and tasteful decor and waitstaff, clean and flavorful food. No puddles of grease here. Their cheese is outstanding. One surprising con - a complete lack of vegetarian menu options.
An all time dinner favorita! However, there are no lunch specials and it can get expensive for a bite. The chimichangas are soft and not so good. The Torta chicken and beef sandwich is only $6.50 and the best sandwich I have had in a while! Overall its a tacky resaurant with good food but a lil too expensive for the setting.
I live just down the street from here and have tried it three times, each time hoping that it would be better than the last. The service is fair, the food just OK. One member of our party had a chicken dish each time we went, and it tasted old every time. This is more of a bar and young peoples hang out, because it is inexpensive, than a fine dining experience.
I've lived in the area for 4 years now...and only recently went to Mexico Restaurant for dinner...and now that I have, I regret only finding it now! They have the best authentic Mexican food I've ever had. I highly recommend the enchiladas rojas.
The staff is very friendly & efficient. The restaurant itself is clean...and the food is presented very nicely.
If you like real Mexican food...you will NOT be disappointed.
