Boathouse Restaurant and Marina Deck
Specializing in Fresh Seafood, Steaks & Sunsets! Built almost all over water, and offering inside or outside deck seating with a panoramic view, the BOATHOUSE immediately captured a loyal vacationer following when its doors opened in 1989.
My family and I ate here on 7/22/10. Arrived at 7:15pm. Upon arriving we told the hostess we had a party of 5, 3 adults, 2 children, one in a highchair. She told us to wait, then ignored us. So we stepped aside. Another woman came up, and the hostess took her name and party size and said it would be 45 mins. So we asked her how long for a party of 5, she looked confused and then a waiter stepped up and said right away for outside. We said fine and were seated.
We ordered and asked if the kids meals could come out with the apps. When the food came out, my 2 years olds meal which should have been chicken fingers was fried fish, which she did not want to eat. When the waiter finally came back to check on us he offered to bring her chicken, but by that point she filled up on fries. Our entrees for the three adults was another 45 mins, of which my husband's BBQ ribs were 50% fatty, the others were average. When the food for the adults finally did come we asked for something else for the kids like dessert since they were long finished, you would think do to the long wait and mix up in the kids meals that they would have thrown in the scoop of ice creams at no charge... which they did not, or taken off the chicken fingers which we did not actually get. But again no. When the bill came everything was still on there, no discount, or comp. We left a 18% tip anyway, and when we were getting ready to leave the manager over heard us discussing the restaurants policy or lack there of one, and came over to ask if there was a problem, at that point we had already paid and signed the credit card slip, so it was a mute point. I would not recommend coming here if you have small children. The food was fair/poor, service was horrible, the view was the only nice thing I can really say about this place.
I have gone to the Boat House since I was a young kid and now I take my family with me. Food and service always excellent. Enjoy the bands they have. Never had any type of bad service. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Wildwood.
All I can say is what a wonderful experience I had dining at this restaurant. The staff was energetic and extremely friendly... got seated fast and the server was speedy with the orders. I read below of people not liking the food, however I can't say the same. My meal was incredible, def. worth every penny. Since the Two Mile Landing and the Crab House are no longer up and running, the Boathouse is a new favorite of mine! Try it out for yourself!!!
We took our wedding party of 16 to this restaurant on a busy Saturday in July 2007. We made advance reservations and were contacted by Lorraine to ask us if there was anything the restaurant could do to make our event better. We asked if we could drop off our cake the day before and she suggested a table out of the hustle. Everyone in our party enjoyed their food, the service was excellent and the prices reasonable, don't forget the drink coupon!!
We decided on the Boathouse on the recommendations of others that have written Yahoo reviews regarding the restaurant. We took a dive and kept going....
We were seated quickly and the the order was taken propmply. That's the best part. The remaining was a frustrating evening. We waited close to 45 minutes for relatively simple food (tuna melt, etc.) We were visited by our server three times during our whole stay (take the order, deliver our food, and deliver our check). Oh yea, our server did refill my beverage but completely ignored my wife and childrens drinks.
The food was average. Edible but but not worth the cost.
