Located on the Black Horse Pike, Library III is a long-standing restaurant in Egg Harbor City, and it is known for its scrumptious steaks and wonderful lounge atmosphere. The setting is just like a typical library with tall book shelves and dim candle lights lining the walls of the dining room. Enjoy the onslaught of succulent steaks like the Prime Rib, Filet Mignon, New York Sirloin and Broiled Sea Scallops, along with Cajun Fries and Rice-Pilaf with Mushroom and Onion at the side. After the meal, walk up to the lounge of Library III and gulp down their specialty cocktails like Margarita and Martinis. As for the entertainment, the downstairs area is where the local and national bands strum out some amazing original tunes for the crowd.
Avoid at all costs. Not worth the time, or the insult from the rude staff. I loved being told I was 'cut off' after one cocktail with dinner, in front of my co-workers, because I was the only female and 'not with a driver'.
This was probably the worst restaurant experience we have ever had! The food was good. It is a shame that the terrible waitress and the lazy attitude of the manager I asked to speak too insured we will never dine there again. We could not get drinks, we did get one and could not get refills, my coffee cup sat empty the whole meal. someone else served our food, my prime rib was not cooked enough to be edible to me but i could not get it fixed since the waitress was too busy to stop by. I did not get the horseradish sauce that is supposed too come with the prime rib we had to go to the kitchen for it. we asked repeatedly for refills and while the whole four other tables she had got thier stuff we still did not get ours. When the check came and they charge me 15 dollars for a grilled cheese for the child we brought I was livid. I asked for a manager since I still could not get a waitress. He acted like it wasn't a very big deal. Had the waitress been at the table more than when we first sat down she would have known that we didn't get the correct food. I not only did not leave a tip (for the first time ever) i wrote it on there in big bold letters so that there was no misunderstanding! My suggestion: drive down the street to a taste of Italy, always excellent there!
I have been to this resturant several times over the past 2 or so Decades.
You place your order directly with the Cheif. You get a Steak and Potato or like item. Also an Opened Salad Bar.
Their Steaks are good, not outstanding, but a good steak none the less.
My last visit was after a decade plus. I was not impressed. I remebered it as a DARK PLACE to EAT and it is. I could not SEE my FOOD.
The double cut prime rib is to die for. I also recommend the lobster and steak combo if you want to treat yourself. The lobster tail is big and removed from the shell for you and you pick the type and size steak to go along with it! The salad bar is basic bunny food but you won't find fresher produce and there is usually at least 3 different types of bread to choose from.
We had our Ladies Auxillary Christmas Dinner here and it was excellent! I had the crab cakes, and they were so filled with huge lumps of crabmeat. Everything was so fresh and very tasty. The salad bar is wonderful. Just enough on it to satisfy! Great meal!
Last time I went there with my friend and our fiances was the abolsute last time. I have never been treated so rudely by a waitress in all my life. We were given a bill that was not itemized so we had to guess what was what, the bar and food menu were on opposite sides of the check and not totaled up, then the waitress chased us out of the bar because we refused to tip her. Sure the food may be great, and the environment very enjoyable, but the overall service that night totally turned myself and my companions off of the Library III. Pay a little extra and go somewhere where the wait staff is courteous.
We live in the Midwest and only make it to NJ about once a year. No trip is complete without a family night at the Library. Prices are a bit over the top but the food is to die for. Great salad bar and fabulous bread, even though I rarely eat bread anywhere else. I'm so glad our local relatives found this jewel yet I'm jealous every time I hear they went for a prime rib without us.
Offering sales and service year round, this outfitter also offers canoe and kayak excursions through the New Jersey Pine Barrens
and up narrow scenic streams, with trips lasting two hours or longer.
