Oyster Bay Steak and Seafood Restaurant, Cape May

Ok so its not on the beach, the mall, in a restored mansion or covered with flowers and vegatation... its on a busy street. Meals are excellent and NOT overpriced like many Cape May restaurants. Wait staff is knowledgable and attentive. This place is for people who like good food and service. A nice mix of seafood and steaks.... FYI: a good steak is hard to come by in Cape May without paying and arm and a leg... Here you get the best of both worlds without paying a steep price. Excellent use of various cheeses in the sauces along with some surprizing ingredients that you wouldn't expect. The andouille sauce on grouper was excellent. Great oysters rockefeller. The exterior, old signage and standard interior have little bearing if you bring good company and enjoy a good meal.

I'm surprised that this restaurant has not been reviewed. The food at Oyster Bay is always perfect, and the cocktails are good, too. I make it a point to eat here at least 2 times/summer.

My family is visiting from Virginia and chose to dine here based on the previous reviews. The food and waitstaff were excellent. I was surprised that the entrees did not come with salads, but the food made up for it. Our steaks (NY Strip and Sirloin) and lamb were cooked to perfection. We also ordered the cheesecake and chocolate cake, which were also great. We have been here for 4 nights now, and this has been the best meal we have had since we came. We definitely will return.

The atmosphere of this place is fine, but the food is mediocre to below average. It tastes like the same food you'd get in a diner. The green beans seemed like they were from the can. When we went (last year), they didn't even have espresso on the menu. The service was friendly but untrained. Overall, I don't understand the attraction to this place. It's not like it has a view or anything (it's across the street from a strip mall). So, poor food + untrained service + strip mall view = a place I'll skip.

This place knows how to cook seafood! Everything was cooked to perfection! My dish was a little bland and could have used some more seasonings...all in all a great place to eat though!

This is a family style restaurant near the mall and not near the beach. Resaonable prices and good food but not much atmosphere. Spend a little more and make a memory.

Three summers running... early august..... excellent food, atmosphere and service.... for an intimate twosome or a family of 10....hoping to return in '08! Thanks for enhancing our summer vacations....
