Lobster House, Cape May

This was our first night out for food on our vacation and thank god the rest of the week was better. Food was not good. My boyfriend had a tuna steak that looked like it was 2 weeks old, nasty and brown and he knows what it's supposed to be like since he has it all the time. I cant even believe they served it. I would of sent it back but he doesn't complain. Will never go again, burger king would of been better at least you know what your getting.

Tasteless food at exorbitant prices with a long wait for a table. Save your money and go to the Harbor View restaurant.

Six of us, waited 1 hour 45 minutes, 15 minutes BEFORE we were greeted by the waitress. had seafood, prime rib and appetizers. Prime rib? The worse ever, my husband had to add salt to the very small stuffed flounder, he never adds salt. First and last visit. They are so busy, they do not even have to care about the quality because these fools keep coming back. DO not know why.

Great Seafood but check your price on take out seafood. The young kids behind the counter doesn't know the difference between salmon & flounder. Paid an extra $3 lb for flounder that was enter at salmon prices.

LOBSTER HOUSE has been the only place for us for the lasr 24 years. Out side and my favorite is the Harbor Burger. Three teens love the broiled seafood combo dinner. Oh and cannot forget the Ceaser Salad. Awesomeeeeeee food and service. A-1

I have eaten at many Seafood restaurants in NY and NJ. The Lobster House in Cape May is the best. I went to another Zagat rated restaurant in Cape May the night before we checked out this place and was disappointed. The Lobster House Fisherman's Warf combo platter was the best. The fresh bread, King Crab legs and the Lobster was to die for. We cancelled our reservations at another Zagat rated restaurant and we ate here for both lunch and dinner for the next two days. You get your money worth. You should strategically plan to arrive at the restaurant around 4:45pm for the dinner service or after 8:30pm if you don't want to wait. Any other time it's about an hour wait. We are planning our next trip to Cape May just to eat here!

If you like great seafood at a fair price, LH is best. scallops, uniquely Cape May. always good ... wait staff is professional but not overboard. if you can sit at the diner, its that same food with diner style.... if you want a she-she dining experience this is not for you... is a throwback to the 60s and well worth it..... a must if you are there for a week

I used to eat at the Lobster House, as a kid in the 70's and I have now taken my kids. Thew wait was excruciating (45 to 55 minute turned to 70 min). Once we were seated the waitress understood and had our food very promptly and the food was very good. I would say the overall experience was worth it. If you have kids take the time to go out and around the basin to the charter boats and spend some time there. I would also suggest that you keep after the desk if the wait time gets long.

A wonderful place to either buy fish or dine in.They also have fish cooked for take out.We visit every time we are in Wildwood, twice each year.Make it a point to visit.

Hey there.. when down at the shore a must stop is the Lobster House. After reading all the reviews they are right and wrong. Yes - you can wait a very long time for food, at the rest,take out, raw bar or even the fish market.. But remember people! If you never worked in the service industry you don't understand that the customer is out numbering the workers. I have to say.. the employees are doing an outstanding job.. I was there last week, and I couldn't belive on how the "we" the customer were treating the staff.. and the staff just kept the smiles on and called another number to help another customer! without blinking an eye! Service in all department are great the take out has the best fried seafood and the raw bar as the best "crab soup" and stop in the fish market, everyone is very helpful and very clean! Only tip I have for someone - which is there first time there.. DON'T be in a rush! They will help you and you will get good food for a great price! I come down to Cape May 3x's a year and I always stop at the Lobster House!
