The Phily Diner has provided quality food and service to South Jersey residents for over 15 years. It was voted Best Diner in South Jersey Courier-Post Newspaper from 1997-present. For travelers on their way to Atlantic City, the diner is a routine stop. In January of 2009, the Phily Diner received a complete face lift. With its all new seating, expanded menu, and signature cappuccino bar, the Phily Diner has truly out done itself. Though the walls have changed, our commitment has not. The Phily Diner will continue to provide quality food and service to South Jersey.
I visited Phily Sports Bar late on a Sunday evening, about 11:20 pm. After working a very long day I was looking forward to relaxing at a place I've frequented often, looking forward to a few cold beers and great bar food! Again, I had just finished a very long day at work.
First security stopped me immediately telling me he needed to inspect my bag! Really? This never happened before & it's certainly not posted anywhere! As everyone around the bar stared at me, I went to the bar after the embarrassing inspection. I sat for 10 minutes as 2 male bartenders tended to & flirted with some young female patrons on the other end of the bar! Noone came over to greet me or take my order! Obviously after 10 minutes, I left and noone at all said one word as to why I was leaving! I called the diner/bar and asked to speak to a mgr & was told the bar mgr wasn't there! Disappointed doesn't begin to cover how I felt!! I most-definitely Do Not recommend!!
With the high prices of gas these days it is unfortunate that most businesses have been forced to increase their prices as well. But to pay $7.90 for two glasses of apple juice is beyond ridiculous (half of the glass was filled with ice). A GALLON OF APPLE JUICE DOESN'T COST $7.90! I paid more in two glasses of juice than what I paid for one meal. Sad to say, but for $8.00 I can get 4 beers at the Roadhouse in Barrington on a Friday night.
I asked the waitress if it was a typo. She checked, and it wasn't - that was the price. I asked for the manager and apparently there was none available.
So, needless to say, that will be my last meal there. I guess they are also trying to make up for the money they are spending on the new sports bar next to the diner. That will be entertaining - this area needs another bar like Oprah needs another happy meal from McDonald's.
