used to be a regular here and would go here to eat at least twice a week. my husband and i would ordered the same thing exact thing every time we went here for years. one day we went there and a different older woman took our order. she didnt really understand english well and she messed our order all up. when we told her it wasnt right she flipped out and then yelled at US in front of a whole restaurant full of people- not once, not twice, but three separate times. we were so embarrassed that we left. i told them we wouldnt be returning ever again and didnt appreciate being yelled at like that. the girls that are usually were the ones that wait on the customers looked rather embarrassed and apologized but after that it didnt really matter to us. i also realize that nothing will be done about this because i think she is one of the owners. such a waste. oh well there are hundreds of mexican joints around here and all of them are more then happy to take our money so we will be spending our money at one of those places. STAY AWAY unless you feel like being berated.
Great authentic Mexican and southwest style food. The guacamole was excellent, as was everything else. Shots of top shelf tequila were expensive, but worth it just to experience something new. The service was excellent.
If you want some authentic mexican food, this is the place, especially the tacos and sauce. The customer service is amazing, and they make you feel at home! (well, if you have a nice home, that should be a good thing) so, run over there! And i forgot to mention, there is a bar for all you beer lovers! The only thing i would change in this place is the hour the close the kitchen. Way too early! 10:00 pm! well, enjoy!
Even the simplist things on their menu are great. My girlfriend and I ordered the guacamole and shrimp ceviche as appetizers and they were fantastic. Our entrees were great. The server was so nice and helpful when it came to ordering our food. The margaritas were amazing and the prices were unbelievably low. All and all, La Esperanza is now one of my favorite restaurants.
the best authentic mexican north of the rio grande and east of the colorado (with exception of the mill stop in pueblo, colorado). guacamole is a phenom, mole is bragged about. carne asada is especial. recommended by a polish guy.
The place to go for family-operated, local, authentic Mexican food. I give it 4 stars for their lunches alone, you can fill up on dishes like flautas, enchiladas, burritos, tostadas plus sides and soup for $5.99. That's cheaper than Baja Fresh, and the food is infinitely better! Guacamole can't be beat. Portions are huge, usually I can get an appetizer for dinner and have leftovers for lunch the next day. They've been around for a number of years and have expanded their dining room capacity; it's a great success story. The only thing I'd ask is to PLEASE bring back the pollo torta!
