We decided to give then a try for lunch. Had not tried them before because they're a little far for pick up. Got the order home and they had left out the Smoke house salad. Had to drive all the way back to get it. Those of us who did get their meals found them to be awful. All three sandwiches were cold. My pulled pork sandwich was full of gobs of fat. Bread was stale. Meat was tasteless. The Smokehouse salad, when she finally brought it back was also tasteless. The meat, such as it was dry..the whole thing looked terrible..Chef Ramsay would have been apoplectic had he eaten there!
This place has a great vibe for blues and ribs especially if you go when the blues bands are playing.
Service is friendly and consistent.
Been going there off and on since the first night they opened and there for a while they started downsizing their sides. It had been a while But,I'm happy to say on my last trip everything is back to the way it was when they first started.Good Job!!!
This restaurant claims that its ribs have been rated the best in New Jersey. Since I don't eat pork, I cannot dispute that claim. What I can say is that the brisket tasted more like a pot roast rather than a slow cooked barbecued brisket, and did not exhibit the smoke rings that one would expect had it been barbecued. The grilled chicken was incredibly dry, tasting somewhat akin to sawdust.
Otherwise, the barbecue sauce, cole slaw and fries were good, and the soda I ordered arrived as a full pitcher, all for a minimal charge.
In short, this is an inexpensive restaurant with mediocre food, one that I would not bother to visit again.
Found this little gem by accident 3yrs ago. Was at a convention and stayed at the Holiday Inn in Cherry Hill. Was on a saturday nite and heard this wonderful music streaming thru the hotel lobby. It was coming from the restaurant next door. Nice deep blues singing peeked my interest. Went in to investigate and was hook ever since. Now at least once a month I go to Red Hot and Blues, to hear the live band on Friday or Saturday and to eat the wonderful BBQ fare that the bar and restaurant serves up. Every time i go I try something different from their wonderful selections on the menu and neither I nor and of my friends have been dissapointed when we go.Good food, good music, and pleasant servers... what more can one ask for when spendding an evening out.
