businesses forget what made them successful
I am all about helping the neighborhood establishments and restaurants in our local area of Morristown, New Jersey. However, when my wife and I decided to order takeout dinners from Mamma Mia Pizzeria (which we have done on many occasions and were very happy) and we where very disappointed, I was decidedly unimpressed by the quality of the 2 meals that were delivered by the restaurant. To begin with, they now charge $3.00 for delivery (which is somewhat understandable with rising gas prices). We were told of the increase when we placed the order, (we were also told the total for the meals which is something new, but nice. In the past you had to ask) When ever we ordered meals in the past they always were delivered with a small loaf of bread and butter and a small salad with house dressing each, it was a nice meal. So when our meals arrived no bread or salad I called the restaurant to ask if it were forgotten and the person that answered the phone said they no longer did that for the customers (sometimes it is the small things that matter) This would not have been so bad, except the chicken was thin with heavy breading, and tasteless, the shrimp were over breaded and tough to chew. The pasta (a much smaller portion than we had gotten in the past) was over cooked. For something like $12.95 ea it really was not worth the amount we were spending. Overall the bill came to something like $33.00 with driver tip, no soda, no bread, no salad, on a very forgettable eating experience. We will not be eating there again for some time. It is unfortunate businesses forget what made them successful.
Here is to finding more affordable, interesting, tasty, eating establishments!
