Being in Morristown for 2 weeks, I tried to find the best sushi and Asahi Sushi was the second sushi restaurant in Morristown we tried and we stopped the search. Went there 4 times over the 2 weeks and it was always good quality and quantity. Try the sashimi salad, its so good! The staff was always friendly and happy to see us! Try it out!
The good: The specialty rolls are outstanding. Well worth the $15. Incredibly fresh and interesting creations.
The bad: It can get very busy in here some nights, and one time my order of shrimp teriyaki arrived freezing cold. I also had an issue of finding what appeared to be a silverfish in one of my desserts, but they immediately replaced it and took it off the bill.
Overall, great specialty rolls. I keep going back for those alone. As for the other stuff on the menu... not that great.
Nestled in a neighborhood going through some positive changes, Asahi is often overlooked, most unfortunate for Sushi fans. The smallish storefront restaurant is warm and the friendly service stays on top of things. Food is expertly prepared and plated professionally and in most appealing ways. Beyond all of this, the Sushi and rolls are spectacular. With a broad range of the traditional, interlaced with some original creations, there is all too much to choose from. The fish is always fresh! Aside from Sushi, there is also a broad range of Japanese standards. From all that I have tasted, and the number of times I have eaten at Asahi, the food has always been consistently the freshest, and never have I been let down Of course, maybe my only regret was the fact that there was no Japanese mustard available, however, that was overcome by the caliber of the food..
