The Clay Oven Indian Restaurant, Ledgewood

I disagree with last month's reviewer, I think they're as good as they've always been. The okra, eggplant and chicken were all tasty and spiced to our specification. The wait staff is attentive, polite and never hover. They're priced reasonably and the new setting is lovely, clean & understated. Music would be nice. Good luck & welcome back.

We were very loyal customers of Clay Oven for many years prior to the fire. We anxiously waited over 2 years for them to reopen. We were there recently and were VERY dissapointed. They messed up our spice level on our food. Mine was so hot I could barely eat it and my husband's was so mild it tasted out of a jar. Both of our entrees were basically seasoned canned tomato sauce.It tasted completely slapped together. I could make better Indian at home. I feel so bad saying this because they are so nice there and the new restaurant is beautiful. If you want really good Indian, go to Taste of India in Flanders.

Wow! I have never eaten such authentic and good Indian Food. I enjoyed the appetizers especially the chicken tikka and the salmon fish was incredible. For dinner we had the lamb curry. The staff were very helpful. I am from British Columbia and was visiting Philadelphia and made it a point to visit Clay Oven in NJ.

This place certainly takes spicy seriously. I ordered my malai kofta spicy and it didn't disappoint. What was a little disappointing is that they were a bit slow with the water refills. When you order something spicy, you'll need plenty of water (or at least I do). If you like your Indian food super-hot, you'll like this place. My husband had the lamb curry mild, and he said it was good as well.

Clay Oven is a clean and well run little Indian Restaurant. The food is fresh, hot and very tasty. The prices have gone up slightly in the last six months but the quality of the food has not changed.

Love this place. It's a true gem. Not super fancy like some Indian restaurants and also not super expensive. Quality food that rivals the takeaways in London!

I drive by the intersection of Rt 46 & Rt 10 all the time, yet have never noticed this place until finding it on Yahoo Local. The place inside looks quite nice, and would be a good place to come for a romantic dinner or special occasion. The food prices are decent, around $10 for vegetarian dishes and $13 for meat dishes. Server was very attentive, so great service. I hoped for a bit more chicken in my chicken tikka masala, but then again I can eat a lot. I plan to eat here again.

The best Indian restaurant I have ever been to. Every dish is excellent! Great place for vegetarians! The restaurant is on the small side, so it can get crowded but the food is definitely worth the wait. I recommend this place to everyone.

Took the wife to the place for a special occassion and was disappointed! We were probably served the day before's appetizers which were tough to chew and oily/warm food which we had to wait for about 45-60 minutes. There were only 2 more tables occupied but the service was still pretty bad. Hopefully, they were just having a bad day. I have lived here in this area for 3 years now but haven't dared to eat there again- hopefully they have improved!
