Salt Creek Grille-Rumson, Rumson

The bar has a good view of the river. This is a restaraunt with fine dinning atmosphere. The orange juice in my drink was sour and was replaced without a hassel. I didnt try the food.

This was the worst restaurant that we have been to in years! We went for a Sunday Brunch in Novemebr 2009 - the food and the service was horrible! The wait staff was constantly dropping utensils and dishes on the floor. We waited about 20 minutes to have our cocktails served and had to order water for the table 3 times before it arrived! The seafood was absolutely tasteless- it tasted like water! Even the eggs were cold.The desserts were extremely small and I think they came out of a freezer just minutes before being displayed. I would not recommend the brunch at all!

my wife& I love this place great food ,a little hard to find though

Wife and I went on a recommendation by a friend, was warned it was a bit pricey, especially for a chain. We arrived a little before restaurant seating, so took a small table by the bar (nice view of the navesink), it was cozy and our server was attentive and friendly. The hostess knew we were waiting for restaurant seating, but we had to go remind her as the restaurant began filling up. Dinner: Service was very good, attentive and not overbearing. We shared a crabcake for an appetizer, it had a nice light texture, but tasted a little fishy (was it fish or crab??), have had better, but certainly have had worse. For the entrees my wife had the porterhouse strogonoff, which she liked (not great, but hit the spot), I had the grille chop which was excellent. We were VERY disappointed with dessert as we were expected a souffle, but all it really was was chocolate cake with melted chocolate inside. Certainly not an authentic souffle, and something I've had at run of the mill restaurants many times in the past at less than half the price. I don't know of the prices are the same at other locations, but for the two of us the bill came out to over $110 with tip (appetizer, 2 entrees, dessert, bottle of wine--half price monday for wine). We may go back just for a few drinks and apps at the bar, but not sure if we'd have dinner there again.

Very nice view of the Navesink, but was disappointed with the meal. Ordered medium rare filet mignon -- was overcooked. Our server agreed (after two pieces were cut my dining companion had not reached any pink meat at all.) Some other waitress came over with the steak cut in half, shined a flash light on the meat, and said the lighting was bad so my companion hadn't gotten a good look at it. She suggested he order rare if he wanted it pink throughout. The experience was a big let-down. We actually went there to try the food and see the downstairs private room for a family affair we were scheduling. Decided against the place because of the filet incident. This was Christmas Eve '06 and the place was empty so I have no idea why this was handled this way.

Had a nice dinner 12/2. Everything was awesome. For those who appreciate good food, you will not be disappointed. Little on the expensive side, but you can sort through the menu and pick something on the tender side of the wallet, unless your date has other plans for your finances. Singles!, go there. There are a lot of attractive social people to meet. This place is for people who appreciate good taste, quality and have good dinner conversations..
