Sono Sushi Japanese Restaurant, Middletown

It seems Zagat is losing it is sense of rating recently. 25 for this restaurant is way over rated. The Sushi 99% rice, the Sashimi you have to chew on it. The salad below average and the soup is Ok. It is good if you are used to go to $10 all you can eat sushi places.

Absolutely the freshest sushi. Haven't found better sushi yet. Clean, small place. Decent service. Pricing is about or slightly above average.

My family loves this place. The fish is always extremely fresh. They serve quality japanese food. One bad thing. Service is horrible. No matter how many times we go, this is the case.

You can pass this restaurant dozens of times and not take notice (unless you're looking for it because so many people recomend it). The sushi was top notch, great fish and well prepared. They were very accomodating. The 'Love Boat' for two was a steal at $49 with 3 rolls and 10 pieces of sushi with soup and salad for each. They do it right.

We arrived at 8pm on a Sat night we were promptly seated. Service was rather distracted/slow given that the tables were clearing out at this point and they were not full. The sushi was fresh and everything we had was good. The value for price was high, we would return again.

Good sushi but the Udon noodle soup lacked flavor and spice. It is one of the better sushi places in Monmouth County.

Sono is the absolute best sushi place that I have ever been to. They have the highest-quality and freshest fish of any sushi restaurants around, they're not overpriced, and the owners and staff are great. The incredible roll, M-16, celebration roll, and spicy crawfish roll are not to be missed. The fluke and stiped bass are fresher here than anywhere else. This was the first sushi restaurant I ever visited, and not even NYC places have been able to compare. The only sushi places in Monmouth County that are close in quality are Sawa in Eatontown and Mahzu in Aberdeen.

Sono has a very peaceful and calm mood throughout the whole restaurant. This restaurant offers a large selection of japanese cuisine ranging from sushi, sashimi, bentos, and barbecue. The food's great, but they offer less than what the price suggests.
