Had a nice lunch at this place today.Service and atmosphere is great! the view is awesome...very expensive boats cruising by.The french fries and coleslaw were great.I had the oyster po boy...I can't eat seeds.. the waitress totally understood and instead gave it to us on a hamburger bun that was delish! I was half expecting a crummy burger bun..no this was delish with a nice tomato and lettuce and a delsih sauce to add to my liking. The french fries and coleslaw were so fresh and yummy. I recommend this place highly.
What I don't recommend is trying to get around this area without a map. What is with our great state of NJ ....supply some street signs of towns you are entering or trying to get to.
WOW went for dinner just tonight, terrific food in fact flawless till we got the check, now I know, when you see mkt price if you cant afford it then don't order it, I could afford it, but....and a big but....19.00 for appetizer of steamers, now I realize its out of season & they were delicious, but in no way do I feel that price was reality, especially since down the street, retail selling them fresh for 5.99 a pound, my family has gone to bahrs each year since 1982, their take out menu states the price at 15.99. It will be the last time I order steamers in the dining room!
View's great (if you get a table by the window), service is excellent, food is so-so and overpriced! If you're looking for good seafood, go somewhere else. If you want a nice atmosphere and good service and don't care about the taste of the food or your wallet, then go to Bahr's!
We love the big lobsters and also the clam bar. The Manhattan Clam Chowder is always a must. The dockside bar is perfect place to relax. We go by boat and usually bring the whole family, kids, grandma and Uncle Joe. Uncle Joe says that he has been going to Bahrs Landing since 1925 when his parents took him there! He said that it hasn't changed much since.
That seems to be Bahr's motto. They have a wonderful location, people will ALWAYS flock to a place with a great view. The food seems to be an afterthought here. Nothing awful, just unimaginitive. Many better seafood restaurants nearby, just don't have the riverfront location.
Have an excellent dinner overlooking the Shrewsburry River--you can't beat it!
Service was spectacular--you have to experience it for yourself! My husband and I also brought the kids to Moby's--which was also out of this world! Pitchers of beer and steamers always hit the spot!
