I have to admit it, I am in New York City food snob and for the first time in many years of living in New Jersey I have found a restaurant that is more than worth the money. Yes I did go early and yes I took advantage of the $34.95 price fixed menu, but as most restaurants would cut costs on this menu, The Assembly Steakhouse offers many items from their main menu. The onion soup was the best that I've had since moving to New Jersey, while at the filet mignon was flavorful and large and was still cooked to perfection. My only knock was a terrible cheesecake served way to cold. The service was attentive and helpful and our experience was excellent. The restaurant is in dire need of a makeover though, and with a new look I think they would be right up there with some top New York eateries. Who knew?
