The Restaurant used to be a great place to go to but it went downhill when they started playing latin music. The crowd used to be upscale at one time. Lately it was bringing in low class people, lots of immigrants. They should change to the way it used to be. It used to be packed on Thursday nights and Friday nights with a nice crowd, no more, the crowd and the music changed.
My family and I came here to celebrate my sisters birthday. At first the valet parking and the beautiful entrance/lobby make The Restaurant appear sophisticated and classy. The tables are beautiful and the chairs very elegant and comfortable. We went for dinner on a Saturday night with a party of 8. After waiting 45 minutes just to order we waited another hour for our meals. The service was extremely slow but we decided to just relax and enjoy ourselves. What we didn't realize was a party was about to start. The classy restaurant turned into a hip-hop party with a DJ blarring latino/hip-hop/dance music. We could not even have a conversation with the person next to us and our relaxing evening was lost. After speaking with the manager about our dissatisfaction he did nothing for us. We had to wait even longer for dessert and the bill. After hearing good things about this place we had an awful experience. I would not reccomend this restaurant and I would not return.
We had a great time at the Restaurant, but I think it more to do with the crowd that we were with. It's a great place to people watch. You get all types. The food was good and the drinks are expensive. We would love to see them get a singer like Liza Moran in there or someone like that.
My fiance and myself were considering this place for our wedding, and though we liked it, the one thing about it that was missing was the seating arrangement. The bride and groom get seated in a little outcove that is most certainly NOT visible to everyone that would be attending. Aside from that, the time we had dinner there was fantastic. The food was just outstanding and the ambiance, service and value were also exceptional. We also went for a brunch on a sunday which is also excellent, especially for the value and food. If you don't at least try the place, you'll be missing out.
One think I can note is that the reviewer before mine had a negative experience based on behavior that isn't acceptable amongst gay or straight individuals in a public restaurant, and he and his partner shouldn't have been the only ones chastised in this instance if he said there was a couple next to him doing the same thing.
