Fornos of Spain, Newark

Great service, Great food and not that expensive.

Been to both Spains and Fornos for many years now. I like the ambience of Spains better though. Comparable food and prices, just a bit roomier.

This is definitely one of the best restaurants in Newark. The food is great, the service is great and the ambiance is great. It can be loud on some nights when it is really crowded, but that comes with being a popular restaurant!

I had a remarkable experience. The service was clean and the staff was professional and well mannered.

This is our favorite restaurant. The food is spectacular and the portions are so big that we always take home enough for another meal. as soon as you sit down they place bread and salad on the table. Along with your main course they serve unlimited portions of rice, potatoes and vegetables. We do tend to avoid Saturday evening as it is very crowded at that time, but other than that we can think of no other place with such incredible food and service.

I would give this place 0 stars, but the service was good. It started nice with the 2 kinds of bread, salad, olives, and olive oil on the table. Then we got our main meal. My husband and I both got the seafood paella with lobster and I also added chicken and sausage. The lobster had a terrible fish taste, smell and was chewy. The shrimp were very very very very small and chewy. The scallops were small, but not bad. My husband would not let me eat the mussels and clams. He told me they were not edible. The rice had no flavor and was very soupy. The chicken was decent — but nothing terrific. The sausage, all 4 tiny thin slivers of it, was good. How do you know how gross it was? We LOVE left overs... we both just enjoy reliving a divine meal the next day, and we left a ton of food — we left it alright, for the trash. No thank you. We did, however take the bread. The worst was when we got the check. We were given 2 mints. Two old smashed, sticky, hot mints. GROSS!!!! We would have been better going to Shoprite and buying frozen seafood and a box of Uncle Ben's rice. That would have been better and far cheaper!!!!! The only good part of the night was the fact that we didn't get sick. We will NEVER NEVER NEVER GO BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At Forno's you will find: incredibly tasty food cooked to perfection; gargantuan portions; a very friendly but non-intrusive, expert wait staff; a lovely, relaxed atmosphere with adequate lighting. You will be made to feel at home - they want you to linger and enjoy! Best food experience and value I can think of. Conveniently located near the Newark train station.

Satruday night at 8pm we walk in and the hostess says an hour wait...Ok, so we sat at the bar...Two hours went by and we figured if we waited this long we had to stay. Two hours and twenty minutes into it there were still 8 names i front of ours. We left and went across the street. We actually had food in front of us before 1045. If you have lots and lots of time to kill, go for it. And when they say an hour, think of us when hours 2 and 3 roll by.

Authentic SPANISH food, not Portuguese, like many others in Ironbound section of Newark. Food is AMAZING, large portions, excellent service. Seafood is FRESH, menu very varied and enticing. Best Bet in Newark, without a doubt!

Great food, excellent service, overall the best restaurant ever. Not a cheap place and the portion are big..more for ya money. 4 Stars!
