Fernandez Steakhouse, Newark

We have been a client of Fernandez Steak House for about 10 years now and we kept coming back for the good food and good service. That's what I thought until we had this experience. Our orders were taken incorrectly and everything was done so tacky and tactless. We did not expect that to happen at all with the 5 star rating of this restaurant. We asked the waiters nicely if they can change or replace our orders but then again, they insisted that we were at fault. For the price of what we were paying, we should get our money's worth. This waiter named Gustavo was very rude and disrespectful. We never expected this to happen to us specially in a fine restaurant like Fernandez. It would take a long time before we even go back to this place.

Definately one of the best restaurants in NJ and should not be missed, for ambiance alone. This was my first visit. The filet mignon was cooked to perfection...those eating rodizio were amazed...sangria was one of the best I've had......The shrimp and garlic was amazing, but the fish dishes were just ok , I had the broiled flounder and someone else at the table had the tilapia, I would not recommend these...(although I did not try the salmon and have heard that was great)...I definately plan to go back soon...Sat night was really crowded, I may try another night...I have never given a restaurant a 5 star rating, and this is with the fish only being ok...

Food is so awesome and so much. I ate like I was going to be executed an had to drive home with my pants open. I recommend it to anyone who is NOT a vegeterian or vegan.

Had my daughters communion at the nightclub...fantastic food fantastic service Rui (not sure if i am spelling you name right) you were a great host my family had a great time. thank you for a lovely party, decorations, food and service was excellent.

Nice place!! .I haven't been at the steakhouse but I've been at the club. I really enjoyed it. Although a lot of AGED people. I had fun thou, nice bands ....!!! recommend it

If you are in the neiborhood you should also check out their night club across the street. The place is for all ages. The music is awsome live bands all night. A must see.. Go and have fun. Lace

My favorite Portuguese restaurant in Newark. Great rodizio. Great service. Large portions of really good food. Love it!

Let's start at the beginning. When we got there the parking lot was so packed that we had to park at the establishment next door. We waited over an over at the bar where there was barely space to stand. I felt bad for the people eating at the tables by the bar. Once we sat down, it was completely worth it. The rice, seafood, and meats were excellent. Everything was seasoned and prepared to perfection. The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere is fun. Next time, I will make reservations.

This place was my favotire a few years ago and I just revisited. The food was and still is one of the best I have ever had. Seafood, Steaks and Rice dishes simply to die and go to heaven for ! The place can be very romantic if you pick the right night of the week and is in my opinion is very affordable. I have decided to make this my favorite place yet again and come back to enjoy the entertainment and dancing on weekends.
