Three women went into the restaurant with the intention of a long visit and relaxing for Mother's Day, After asking around of what would be a good place, and hearing that The Village was cute, good food, not too pricey, friendly, we chose to go there. These people who advised us must have had a better experience there than we did, or are the eat-and-run type, which is what it seemed the restaurant preferred. We went early so it would not be crowded. We let the waitress know that we planned to stay a while and talk over wine and food, and she said that was fine.
We felt pushed to order. The food was good, but certainly not great.
We ordered wine, our meal, then dessert and coffee. The dessert did not come. We wanted doggie bags, and the waitress did not bring one of them. We had the waitress coming back to the table several times while we had our coffee, seeming to imply, but not saying, that our time was up.
As we were waiting to pay with the credit card sitting on the table, a man (we are assuming the owner or manager) came to our table quite distraught, pointing to his watch, and telling us in angry tones that we had been there too long, and they had other people waiting for our table, and would we please leave.
We were not being noisy or annoying to others, We were not rude. We spent $200 between the three of us for our meal, beverages, and tip (that's pricey in my book), and were on our way out anyway.
You have lost three potential return customers. We are not impressed that you are on the Litchfield green. We ARE impressed with the medium quality food, service, and POOR treatment, and will not go back. We will also let others in the area know of our treatment there.
