Description

Thai Taste's, on the lower floor of the Hotel Duncan , is easy to access, even if you're not staying at the hotel. The Royal Thai government agrees that Thai Taste is one of the best Thai restaurants in the Tri-State area. Come on down and explore Thai favorites like chicken satay and various fried rice dishes or choose one of the more exotic offerings, like rabbit or frog. Vegetarian specialties, seafood and hot and spicy curries also grace the menu.

By far the best Thai restaurant in the Chapel St area. Great and consistent food and service. Try it for lunch on the weekends for a thrifty and delicious meal.

Best Thai food I ever had
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/13/08
This restaurant has an amazing ambiance with delicious Thai food. You can't go wrong with anything that you order on the menu. I specifically recommend Salmon Curry and Panang Curry. They're both my favorite entrees! The Thai Ice Tea is the BEST and I mean, the BEST. You can't stop by New Haven without stopping at Thai Taste if you like Thai cuisine. For the price you pay, you really get a good deal out of it. I highly recommend this place to anyone who likes/loves or wants to try Thai food!

This little gem is hidden from first view in the basement of a building - its unnasuming, modest, but always has a good number of people dining there. What we were served was the best thai meal I have had anywhere, their seafood in particular was incredible, and their soups delicious. The pad thai needed a little lime, but that was our only negative thought. It is a very cheap and very good way to fill up in New Haven

Reasonable prices Good food Brown rice I like Thai Taste because they serve quality food at reasonable prices, with brown rice usually available as an option. Many Yale students here, especially at night. Can get a little loud.

A pleasant surprise
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/24/07
There are 5 Thai restaurants on Chapel street. I've tried 3 of them and Thai Taste is the best by far. We ordered the Thai sampler, red curry w/ pork, and drunken noodles w/ chicken. The portion was generous (this was the lunch menu) and the food was delicious. The amount of heat was just right. Not too spicy, not too mild. I will definitely return to this place and would certainly recommend it to others. Nice ambiance as well.

Awesome Thai in New Haven
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/2/07
Such great food in a smaller restaurant. Portions are good sized and the prices are so reasonable! I've even been given some soup "on the house" on a couple of occasions. There are a few Thai places in a row on Chapel Street, but this one has got the tastiest food!

Get the spring rolls
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/7/07
The soft shell spring rolls are out of this world. They're fresh, crunchy and excellent. As a matter of fact, now that I'm writing this, I'm going to stop on my way home and get a few of those rolls to go. ~ Frank

Solid bet for all occasions...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/16/07
Nothing too fancy, but the food is good. I'm especially fond of the Tom Kar Guy soup (Chicken Coconut), the Pad Thai, and the Panang Curry. Their Thai iced tea is also great. Not too pricey, and the portions are generous but not wastefully so. A Yale University staple.
