ever try to eat shrimp over pasta and bit into a tail? not a good feeling i have never had shrimp in a garlic sauce with the tails still on. what a lazy chef. we had 2 different shrimp meals both came with the tails. very poor. i had the 1.5 lb prime rib it looked small and was very tough.
Worst experience ever! Have been there a few times before and the food was always good and the staff was professional. On this occasion however, it was the opposite! The waitress was unprofessional, spilling things and reaching over us to pass things to the other person - even at one point asking us to pass things along! When we spoke to the manager he barely acknowleged this and then the waitress proceeeded to get in our face and tell us we should not have gone to her manager. Then she flipped us off - yes flipped us off! she then threw the check at us! we tried to speak to the manager again - he said there was nothing he could do. I asked for the owner - of course he was not there - so I got his phone number - proceeded to call him at home on a Sunday night - at first he was pleasant and understanding - stating he would call his manager and get back to me - he did call me back to tell me he would comp me 2 bottles of wine! only 2 of the 6 of us were drinking! then he said he would give me free dessert - I said no, that due to the way we were treated he needs to comp our bill as I am refusing to pay it. he then proceeded to tell me he was trying to make a good faith gesture and based on my story and his managers story - of course they were not the same - he pretty much called me a liar on the phone! so much for customer service - all I can say is this - Business must be booming and the money must be rolling in for you to hire staff that treat your customers like crap and flip you off! Is the economy - you should be grateful people still go out to dinner!
The most horrible dining experience. The only good thing about this restaurant was the waitress.
We had to send the drinks back and the lobsters. The lobsters smelled so bad, we lost our appetite and couldn't eat anything else. Management's attitude was as bad as the food!
So Sad! This used to be our favorite restaurant. Great steak, great prices, great service. It was such a good place to go and have a drink and eat a steak!
Don't know what happened. It is awful. Went twice in the past month, and it was dreadful. Lousy, tiny, overcooked steaks, horrible drinks- no alcohol, all mix. And service? Oh my gosh, no no no! I guess they have hired new people and forgot (or didn't bother) to train them.
No more New Deal for us. What a shame.
The New Deal Steakplace has a great. diverse menu. Everything is very fresh and cooked to order. The happy hour menu (Mon-Fri 4-6:30, Sat and Sun 12-5!!!) is very cheap and sooooo good!! The offer banquet rooms for parties (we had our wedding reception there - small wedding with 25 people) and the service was even better than we had expected. Truly our favorite place to eat in the area!
Weekend happy hour in the tap room from 12 noon - 5:00 pm. $1.00 drafts, $2.50 Margaritas, Daiquiris and Bloody Marys and a bar menu with nothing over $2. The people are friendly and the service is Okay, better in the winter when the tourists are gone.
