Cafe Routier, Westbrook

Several times a month we love going here. Lounge for small plates and eccentric global street food and dinner in their dining room in a big booth. Trout specialty is wonderful

The lounge area and bar are a lot of fun and we always see people we know. We tend to eat anything that is new to the lounge menu and love that the menus change over so often. bartenders that remember what we like and how we like it. Classy spot

I agree. For us, this spot is our new dining home. we've been looking for a spot to hang our hat since we left the Village a few years back. Love their changing menus and that although the food is tremendous, it is a very casual spot. NY Strip with mustard butter and frites is excellent. We've had a few very good versions of duck and the their bar/lounge is very sheek, comfortable.

Probably the best restaurant in the area. We LOVE this place. Cant miss.

if there is a better option on the shoreline I haven't found it yet. We love cafe Routier. One of the best wine lists around with a creative menu and unbelievable desserts. Lounge is very comfortable and friendly service

Simply, I love this place because the kitchen bends over backwards for my picky eating habits. A very fun bar scene, it's great when one of their young chefs builds a plate for me. Thank you Routier for making me happy all too often. Love their wine list and lounge. Great place to hang out before or after a movie. Our favorite on CT shore

We usually stick to their house favorites side of the menu but our last visit was maybe our favorite. We love Spain and save to travel there every few years. Their new regional menu (they change regions of the world every few months) was Andalucia and we ate our way right thru it iberico ham and melon, oxtail empanada, salt cod fritters, red snapper stew (OMG) and the masa dusted roast chicken. Although we didn't have it the lobster paella with black trumpet mushrooms looked amazing at the table next to us. we love going here because after so many visits, it feels like our neighborhood spot.

When to Cafe Routier last night, was not impressed, You can not get a bottle of wine for less then $28. We had Tapas, Pork and Mushroom Pot stickers: greasy and over cooked. I think they used egg whites to seal, which make them tough. Mimi Kobe Burgers: was that really Kobe beef? got rare and it way dry, and the Foie Gras Mousse way to much salt. Fried Oysters: again very greasy. Mimi Hanger Steak Fajitas: one had only meat and the other just veggie? need more heat. Over priced for the quality. Ambience was great. How did they get listed in Zagat's World's Top restaurants?

Well, we made reservation and told that we were celebrating my wife's birthday. We were told that a nice table and a dessert with a candle was waiting for us. We arrived and they seated us in a corner facing this red padded viny wall with no view whatsoever. Our food arrived, good taste, our waitress only came to check on us once. We order desert but no b-day candle for my wife as we were told. I guess that coming from California we are very spoiled with the service any restaurant will give, and a candle in celebration for your b-day and friendly service is always there. Overall this restaurant is over priced and service was not as great as it was expected. We were a disspointed couple on this very special night!
