Ibiza, New Haven

From the same experts who gave us Meson Galicia and the original Med. Grille comes this hidden gem. Incredible variety of creatively prepared and addictively tasty food. Unreal high quality. Fun and lively. Top notch and friendly service. Don't think about it, just go. It is very nice and you are going to like it very much!

This is as fine cuisine as you get in CT and frequently in NYC. Very interesting menu. Food is consistent. Con's are outweighed by the food. However, they are: Occasional inept service, lighting too dim for this quality restaurant, and very expensive wine list.

My wife and I along with another couple dined at Ibiza last night. We selected Ibiza principally because of the strong ratings it had received from Zagat.Talk about disappointment!The service was inconsistent as we were there for 30 minutes before our drink order was taken. We found the menu to be very limited and it was difficult to hear the waiter describe the daily specials as the restaurant was noisy. When our appetizers did arrive, the waiter was confused as to who got what.My wife had the chicken dish smothered with guatemola (sp.), which was not detailed on the menu, and which she dislikes. My friend's wife had the sausage appetizer and risotto. She seemed to like it but she was not raving about it.The two guys had the crabcakes appetizer along with the salmon. It was ok but not out of this world as would be expected from a restaurant rated '27' for food.In summary, Zagat, in our view got this one wrong and diners seeking Spnaish food would be better

Incredible food, food presentation, wine list, and service. The best Spanish food in Connecticut.

I was concerned about the many recent negative reviews, but all was well. Excellent place, if not the ultimate temple some reviewers claim. The duck was fabulous. Two amuses bouche, at start AND end of meal, were superb. The pre-theater prix fixe menu was inexpensive but very skimpy, better to pay the freight and have access to the whole deal. Consider splitting appetizers like the squid in ink. Wines very pricey starting at $10 per glass.

Tasting menu was beautiful - made me want to linger over each course.1/2010 I'm sorry to update this review to say that Ibiza seems to have slipped somewhat, if our last visit was an indication. The food was much less interesting and flavorful, and the service was not great.

Great Tapas, great bar drinks, really attentive, knowledgeable service. This is the child of the AMAZING Ibiza in New Haven, only minutes away, but is totally different (read "non-tweedy"), full of stylish young people enjoying themselves and making lots of happy noises over dishes that are crystal clear in their flavor and consturcution! Been twice, cannot WAIT to get back. Worth finding and a GREAT hip spot for a first date!

There was an oily odor and atmosphere evident on entry even though the restaurant was practically empty. The food was tasty but lukewarm when served. The setting is pleasant and the tables were well spaced so conversation wasn't a problem. But the oily odor made the entire exprience somewhat unpleasant.

made the mistake of dining during restaurant week. Rushed and rude service beyond belief, even with forgiviness for the night being during restaurant week. Food was nice, but nothing over the top.

I have never been close to disappointed here. It is always excellent, I do not even mind the big bill. Wine choices are mostly expensive, but well paired with the food(s).
