Roseland Pizza, Derby

I have been going here for years, the service was always terrible from day one but you overlooked because the food was so awesome. Now a days the food is hit or miss, you never know who's in the kitchen. We went there on a Sunday for dinner and ordered the special which was homemade potato gnocchi's. We got our garlic bread quick then the salad but the macaroni took an hour. Not the bad part they brought three orders and there were five of us. Ok things happen but then they tried to blame us and said they take a long time to make. Well, we know this we make them ourselves, they are a pain. I never even go out for dinner on sunday we always stay home and make our own sauce, just tried to get a day off. They have gotten worse over the years and the old lady should retire like the review above stated. Im sorry I give up. As Donald Trump says Your FIRED.

We ate there on 1/2/11 and it was great. Nothing wrong with the service. Food was great. Wish it was closer to Newtown, CT.

Food is overrated and bland. I went there a couple of times I was told they had the best grinders in town and I was very disappointed, was not seasoned very well and a little dry for my liken. Another time I had the veal parm and that too did not have any taste. Another time my family ordered a pizza and when I went to pick it up was given the wrong order. That was not a problem, the problem was when I mentioned it to the woman at the counter, she was very rude about correcting my order. So I cancelled the order and she told me they don't need my business anyway. Have not been back and would not recommend to anyone.

Awesome Pizza, and veal parm. Been going there since I was a kid, and it's still the best. Worth the wait.

Overated and way to pricey. Bertucci's thin crust is way better and the price is reasonable. If you like pan pizza Shelton Pizza Palace is excellent.

Pretty darn good pizza. A little pricey, but good. $19.50 for a large one topping. Not as good as Modern Apizza, but better than 95% of the pizza places in the state. No complaints on the service.

Excellent food. Definitely worth the wait for pizza. Try some of their specialty pizzas, you won't be disappointed. If you aren't sure which one to try, the friendly wait staff can make suggestions. Lost one star due to the TVs in the restaurant.

The penne pasta with lobster sauce was to die for. The best I have ever had. The salad was fresh. The staff was very friendly to me. I love the place. I thought it was worth the price. You get your money's worth.

Roseland's food is incredible. No matter what you order from them, it turns out better than anywhere else. I spent $86 on the Lobster, Shrimp and Scallop pizza and it was worth every penny! The Broccoli Rabe is out of this world. Stuffed Lobster Ravioli...to die for! The place is a little old and the staff is a little cocky but they would never have been around this long if the food wasn't as great as it is. Derby, CT. is far from an affluent town but the locals have no problem spending their hard earned money there. There is absolutely no reason for anyone in Connecticut to travel to Arthur Ave in the Bronx when Roseland is right here. The atmosphere is similar to them all....heck...at Dominick's you sit on benches with no seat backs and have no idea how much the food is because prices aren't listed anywhere....talk about having a lot of nerve. Roseland can go toe to toe with any of those New York or New Haven Italian eateries. Give it a try and you'll see what I mean. You'll spend a little more, but you'll NEVER leave unsatisfied.
