I went here recently for the first time and it will be the last. The menu was all show and no go as it looked very appetizing but that’s where it ended. I ordered the broiled seafood platter with a side of stuffing. The scallops were gritty with sand and the shrimp was bland, no sauce or sauté. The stuffing was like overcooked Stove Top with some shrimp in it. The crabmeat stuffing I get with the filet of sole at Stop & Shop puts it to shame. Fortunately my girlfriend ordered the petite filet which was good. The service was pathetic given it wasn’t that busy at the time. Other than the steak, the only positive thing I can say about the place was that the hostess was extremely cheerful and friendly. I should have went to Stop & Shop and ate in. Sad to say, you can get better seafood from the grocery store.
If you are going to eat in mystic you are going to spend a little more money why not get a meal that will satisfy your taste buds and your stomach. My wife and I eat here when we have a night away from the kids and we are always happy with the friendly service and the great food. We will always come back.
Absolutely amazing experience- my husband and I went for a cruise down to Mystic to do a bit of leaf peeping for the fall. We ended up going for a late dinner. The wait wasn't that long- about 30 minutes. We were sat in a timely manner and the hostess was just wonderful! Our service was the best I've ever had. Heidi was fantastic and took great care of us- she should be praised! The food was fantastic- my husband ate the butternut squash bisque on special- wow!!! He also had the tuna entree (amazing) and I ate the broiled seafood platter. Everything was just wonderful.. the view, the service and the food. I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone traveling to Mystic. 2 very big thumbs up!
I have tried to make reservations for a table of 8 people in late September (the off season). The hostess told me they can't reserve tables for a party of this size, but can take two reservations for four people and try to sit us together. They took two different names to hold each reservation and gave us two seperate confirmation numbers. We got to the restaurant a bit early to have a drink on the patio... I could not bring a stroller on to the patio for my baby of four months old. (No strollers allowed on the patio!) The evening hostess had no idea we had two parties of four to sit near eachother! Very unaccomodating and as a South Eastern Connecticut local I will NOT go back there. This is not the first issue my family has had at the restaurant, but it will be the LAST!!
Food was average. Restaurant was overcrowded and there was no where to stand while we waited at the bar to have drink prior to being seated. Parking was also a real pain since the lot was full you had to sit and wait and pray that someone was leaving so you could park. I was disappointed in the quality. While the food was edible, it wasn't anything to write home about and certainly doesn't justify the high price tag. My husband and I won't be eating here again.
Really good seafood, some of the best around here and the waiters were really nice, very friendly. Crowded on the weekends but really nice view of the lake.
The best part is that they hae their own parking which makes it extra special as parking can be a hassle in the evenings in Mystic.
Went there recently and we ordered a mixed grill seafood sampler and a broiled seafood platter. Waitress was nice; the food came out relatively fast, but barely warm. I sent my plate back for reheat, and it came back cool again. Nothing worse than cool seafood. It tasted like it had been precooked then brought to the table. Nice view, but food not worth the money or the effort to chew.
The best fried clams in the area can be found at this clam shack which also claims to have one
of the best sunset views around. Outdoor dining overlooking the flood tide is provided and the menu includes delicious ...
