My husband, myself and our granddaughter went to the Steak Loft today for lunch. We watched people who came in after us get their meals. My husband and I had the roast beef and gravy sandwich. It was not the greatest. It was overcooked and really did not have much flavor. My granddaughter's steak was also overcooked, not juicy and not very appetizing. We waited a very long time for our food and had to ask the waitress to check and see when it was coming. Food and service bad! Will not go back.
2 minature steaks 2 rubber shrimp with unidentafiable seafood suprise stuffing, 1order of what tasted like frozen breaded shrimp, 1 fish and chips the grandson wouldnt eat $80 with tip for one of the worst meals I have ever had
I have been going to the Stake Loft a couple times a year for years. The chicken teriyaki is to die for and the salad bar compliments every dish. Price is very affordable. I can eat, and I have never left this place hungry or disappointed. It is true, they do not take reservations but you can always wait at the bar sipping on a cocktail before they seat you and believe me, it is worth the wait.
I do not write reviews but I am compelled by some of the negative reviews. The wife and I have been visiting Mystic for 10+ years and always look foward to a meal at the Steak Loft. We average two visits a year and have never had a bad meal. Our last vist 04/24/2010. I am confused by complaints on the salad bar, green, pasta, potato, serveral types dressing and toppings along with baked bread. I could have made a meal out of the salad bar alone it was delicious. Our dinnner this time out was a combo steak & seafood I had shrimp, wife had baked scallops. My wifes only complaint was she could not keep me from stealing a few. The food is delicious our waitress was excellent and to top it off they have a price range for every wallet. The parking lot is always full but there is always room. We Highly recommend.
we were visiting from out of town and came here upon a recommendation from a few locals. it was absolutely horrible! particularly the salad bar. i wouldnt even consider the food here to be mediocre, let alone recommendable.
The salad bar was the worst I have seen and the meal was just plain bad. The steak was dry, flavorless and unexciting. The service was fair but was more what I would expect at waffle house not an establishment that claims to be as good as it does. The prices were very high for the quality and portions of food. The only good things I can say are that the atmosphere was cozy and fairly soothing, the service was fair and the employees were polite. I would not eat here again...ever.
I've been here three times, each visit about a year apart from the previous. I found the quality of the steak poor and overdone to the point of being dry and leathery. The first time I figured the cook must have had a bad day but each time I returned I saw no improvement.
The service is exceptional though so if you like overdone steak promptly brought to you by friendly and accomadating staff then this is the place for you.
My husband and I went to this place on a trip to mystic seaport, they had the BEST stuffed scallops ever !!!!! We are going back just to have again and we live in the pacific NW. Highly recommended item
