I have been to Turmbull Kitchen three times - Once in May 2005, One in August 2005 and again in November 2005. The first time we loved it (had mussles + fries, fondue) and everything was great. But the second and third times we were unimpressed. Food was unimpressive last time and service not so hot. We may give it another try, but not too excited about it.
service was bad, food was cold, waitress was talking with other employees when I was waiting for a fork, forgot to bring one drink, with four people at table and three have drinks you should be able to see one was missing. no fork equals cold steak. lousy attiitude with our server.
We went here for a friends birthday and loved it. I thought it was going to be very pricey, but was actually very reasonable. We had a sushi appetizer that was really good (and I'm not really a sushi fan), when the meals came they were very elegantly presented, but with good portion sizes. The meals themselves were excellent. My boyfriend had the halibut and it was melt in your mouth delicious. Our friends both had the meatloaf which could almost be better than Mom's, and the most delicious garlic mashed potatos I've ever had. I only had a salad, but it was fresh and had lots of good stuff in it and the dressing that they make there is excellent. Our server was very helpful and friendly. We had a great time and enjoyed ourselves tremendously.
Fabulous atmosphere, busy, downtown place to see and be seen. The perfect meeting spot before the theater for drinks and apps or dinner. Have been there many times and plan to be back many more. The menu is constantly evolving, so it's always a new dining experience.
