We just went there for the first time and it was wonderful. I had the Veal Marsala and my wife the eggplant parmigiana

I got to tell you...even as a employee of Elizabeths I can't help but boast about the food that we serve. John has a personal touch in each dish he creates. From the Cream of Tomato that should be marketed, to any dish with lobster cream sauce which is just heaven to the olfactory system. I have worked there for 6 1/2 years and love our customers, we have a steady stream of regulars that are a pleasure to serve every week. And it is a joy to serve all of our new customers as well to hear that they had a great meal and great service. His prices are reasonable and the portions are large...trust me alot of people go home with lunch for the next day if they can keep themselves from finishing their plate. It has been a pleasure to work there and to continue to work there in the future! Please join us when you can!

I wouldn't go back to this restaurant if it was the last place on earth. The food was very bland, and the owner was very rude. We had a coupon for buy one entree get one at 1/2 price. My wife and I ordered the two most expensive meals/drinks on the menu and got a small pizza for our kids to split. He refused to take 1/2 off one of the entrees and only credited us $3 for 1/2 of the pizza. To add insult to injury, even the pizza sucked, one bite and all the cheese would fall off. Just a terrible experience all around.

Elizabeth's is our favorite restaurant in this area. Everything is made to order from scratch. The sauces are spectular. I usually avoid any dishes when out to dinner that contain cream anywhere in the description but Elizabeth's cream sauces are very mild and use just enough cream for texture and flavor without making it too heavy and filling - allowing you to enjoy the whole meal. I actually disagree with the previous reviewer's comment about the bread; they make it fresh there. I think another bread wouldn't allow you to enjoy the roasted garlic oil and pesto they make from scratch for dipping. This restaurant is also reasonably priced and portioned. I have never ordered anything I didn't enjoy nor have I been there with anyone who didn't enjoy their meal. It's also a much better choice compared to the Mill at 2T on Tunxis Ave across the street which is WAY over priced for what they serve. Good food but we prefer Elizabeth's anyday. Elizabeth's is great to for dinner and just relax with some wine and flavorable Italian food.

The rack of lamb is not always available but when it is, it is amazing! I love everything about Elizabeth's. If I could change one thing, it would be the bread. It's dull white bread...they should offer a nice french batard or ciabatta or something...

Love the atmosphere. Customer service has always been excellent. We have tried several dishes and all have been outstanding. The Chef's are truly artists. I highly recommend the cream of tomato soup. Wow!!! Just love this place.

A real treat. It's off the beaten track and in an unexpected location. I think most of the business is by word of mouth. Always packed. Good food and good sized portions. Cloth tableclothes and napkins, good atmosphere. We've been there several times. I'd recommend it to anyone.

Good Solid Restaurant

Although nothing about Elizabeths bowled us over, we found a lot to like about this place. It has a nice downtown location in Tariffville. The dining room seemed too open at first glance, but we got a booth/table along the wall, and felt cozy. The food was well prepared and a good value - each entree comes with soup or salad. We found the salad to be very good and enjoyed our entrees. Although we agreed the Veal Marsala could use a little less oil. Server was great - personable and attentive. Overall a good place for a nice meal.
