I was at the Peavine this past weekend on Saturday, It was a country theme with live music and a special menu to fit the theme. IT WAS AWESOME! we had a blast and the food was great. It was crowded but the service was good and quick. Can't wait till the next time i'm in the area to stop in again.

Even though the establishment was empty (now we know why) there was only one waiter serving while the other two waiters were sitting outside taking a cigarette break that lasted throughout our entire dinner. What was disturbing however was that the waitress who served us had only started three days ago and was left doing the entire job. After 45 minutes the appetizers arrived which seemed overpriced for the small servings. In the meantime we witnessed how the owner of the establishment walked his white pitbull across the lawn which the dog used as a lavatory in front of your eyes. Most of the main dishes were not so good as some of the ingredients were cold or did not fit the description on the menu. What really ruined the experience is one of my friends going to the bathroom after she tasted a clump of hair in her mouth. From a sanitary aspect the manager brought his dog into the establishment which he had no control over it whatsoever. In other parts of the country, a restaurant earning such poor evaluation runs out of business in no time.

We decided to go to this restaurant after reading a good review. We tried first on a Monday, and arrived at 8:20. They were closed, even though their hours said they were open until 9:00. We tried again on the next Wednesday (they're closed on Tuesdays). Their service was pretty slow, even though there were only two other families there. We ordered brucheta, and it was dissapointing. The high points of the meal were the burgers, which were average, if not a little better. It was all downhill from there. The steak tips were not very good. They were ordered meddium well, and they ranged in color from from brown to dark red. We suspect they were frozen, because as mentioned before, it was a slow day. In my opinion, the thing that really put the nail in the coffin for this restaurant was their apparent claim to fame: having computers and playstations for children's tables. To me, this seems a bit sleazy. Overall thoughts: long waits, below average food, and a lack of family conversation due to electronics at the table.

The Peavine is truly a find, best place for kids
By ,
Our family was skiing on killilington, No snow, bad conditions was looking for a fun place to take the kids, we were told to go to the Peavine in Stockbridge Vt. Not only did the kids love the place but so did my Husband and myself. Flat bread was done in a brick oven, Brucetta The best I ever had! Burgers were done the way the kids wanted, never seen my youngest eat all her food at a restaurant before, could be the kids were promised a trip to Buddy the engineers toy chest if they ate all there dinner. This thing (a toy chest with Buddy the engineer) comes down from the rafters the kids eager and there eyes popping out of there head!, Both my kids were fortunate to each have their own Max computor right at our table with educational games and puzzles, The food was great, service with a smile. The place was decorated for the season, trains were going around the rafters, and we had live music with our dinner great time. We will go back and will recommend this restaurant to all our friends.
