Chez Henri Restaurant & Bistro, Waitsfield

Sad to say, we were not really impressed, poor service, really...Got there on time, we were seated right away, but took our orders after 20 mins. and our first course came after 30 mins. which was just a Salad and Shrimp Bisque...The Salad looked cheap & tasted average, I even make better salad at home...I'll give the bisque a credit but 30 mins. waiting is not acceptable...We felt discriminated coz the table next to us (also a couple) got their first course before us when they just got there...Shouldn't it be first come first served? When I asked the server about our order, she gave me a lot of excuses that she's busy serving a big party and that the kitchen is backed up...So, how come the table next to us got their food really quick? Did they have to catch the shrimp to make the Bisque? I also work in the kitchen and it doesn't take that long to reheat a Bisque and Salad is the easiest thing to do, just toss it in a bowl and plate, right? Our 2nd course came after 25 mins. it was just Chicken & Pheasant dishes, we're glad it tasted good so it was worth the wait but we were ready to leave if it didn't come out of the kitchen in 5 more mins. That lady cutting the bread right next to the fireplace is very distracting...I was watching her slice the bread & she was having a real hard time slicing them...Was she using a good knife? Guess, that's what happens when you're waiting for your food too long, that even the poor bread lady is criticized...Really disappointed with the service, staying 2 hours (9pm-11pm) for a 2 course meal is not worth it...Couldn't have a dessert coz it might take another hour...But despite the service, we still gave more than 15% tip, just to let that woman (older with glasses & long hair) realize that she could've gotten a bigger tip if her service was better...Will never return...
