Shin La Restaurant and Sushi is my favorite place to dine. They have excellent choices for all tastes. The sushi is always fresh and the food is always consistent and delicious! Try it once, and you're bound to be hooked!

Best Restaurant in Town!!!
By ,
This restaurant has delicious plates. Start with some yakimandoo (korean dumplings) and steamed shumai, or start with some of the great small salads like spinach or sea-weed salad as appetizers. After this try the famous korean chiken with rice soup, it's that good! Then you can decide among several options. They have a decent amount of vegetarian options that are just great. Try hot noodle soup, new year souo, Bi Bim Bab, Jab Chae Bab, Vegetables Tempura, Stir fry noodles with tofu and the steamed tofu!!! If you like meat you'll be very happy with all the variety this restaurant has. Try bol go ki, chicken kara age, yakitori, stir fry noodles with beef or chicken, spicy soups, fish base soups, all meat teriyaki or deep fried... It's just great. There is also a sushi bar which is excellent. Try spicy tuna roll, eal avocado roll, yellow tail sushi, koala roll and the sashimi rice.

Best in Town
By ,
Look, this restaurant is the best in town. Locals of all sorts show up nightly because its great food with a relaxed environment. They have a full sushi list and korean items that have been on the menu for as long as I can remember. I personally recommend the hot noodle soup, yakimandoo, shu mai, seeweed salad and for desert they make excellent, very thick frappes. of all the hot beverages try the ginger tea.

Those of us who love the Shin-la (there are many) don't go for the service. If you hear complaints from those who feel scorned by the one, sometimes bored, sometimes harried waitress, just know that the food more than makes up for it. My favorites growing up were bool-go-ki and yakimandoo, and now that they added the delicious sushi menu, I can love something else! Just be warned that it can take 10 minutes or 90 to get your food; budget your time accordingly, and if you get stuck, soak up the friendly local atmosphere while you wait!

The BEST Food In Brattleboro! WOW!
By ,
Upon my first arrival in Brattleboro, I was seeking to find a fine cuisine to dine. At a great location in Brattleboro, I found my restaurant. Shin-La Restaurant and Sushi Bar. They're appetizers were very wholesome. Filled with flavor and originality, this was hard to resist. The prices were excellent. Shin-La Restaurant can start you off with their Vegitarian Yakimandoo or Pork Yakimandoo. They serve anything from high quality Marinated Sirloin Beef to Spicy traditional flavored stew. They bring they're own history and flavor into their dishes. I was shocked to see their own sushi list, serving over 60 items. Their spicy tuna is the best sushi I have ever tasted. Packed with the freshest tuna, this bite was bursting with taste. They had pretty good service too. At the end of the meal, I got to meet the owner. She was very nice upon aqquantince, always greeting people with a smile. The overall prices were very reasonable. What a great restaurant. GO THERE!

By far the best sushi I tasted in years. The sushi chef just got a salmon from Maine and I waited for him to butcher it. He didn't speak very good English, but he gave me free salmon!

I grew up on Shin-La food. Every since I was seven the owner, Mrs. Kim, showed immense hospitality. Another great thing about Shin-La is the mix-matched furniture-- it adds a sense of homeliness and comfort. However, I was not the only one that grew up on Shin-La food. Occasionally when I ate, her children would hide underneath the booths and play games. It was very cute. If you ever go to Shin-La, they have THE BEST Kimchi I have had (I tried a place in Northampton and it just never hits the spot like Shin-La). Their Miso was a nice appetizer, rich in taste. But their best dish by far Bool Ko Ki - Large. If you're going for Sushi, I would try the Spicy Tuna Roll or the Shogun Roll, my favorites. I think they won Best of Brattleboro for restaurants and Sushi.
