Ye Olde Tavern, Manchester Center

Found this place on web. When checking into our hotel, we asked where to dine and they said Ye Olde Tavern. Atmosphere is like stepping back in time. White table clothes, classical music, fresh cut flowers and candle light. Very diverse menu, with something for everyone. The focus of the menu is Continental with some regional dishes Wine list is quite large with an emphasis on American. Servers are friendly and attentive. Make reservations, this place can get busy.

We live locally and up until several months ago used to come here with guests, friends and relatives at least three to four times a month. Unfortunately, the past two visits were not good. Waitstaff attitude and food left a lot to be desired. I am leaving three stars based on previous superlative experiences but it will be a while before we return to this restaurant. The cranberry popovers are always a treat, but the Prime Rib and Salmon as well as the Rack of Lamb we had recently were disappointing. Atmosphere is neat given the history. I hope the food and attitudes improve.

Been to the Tavern a few times for Rotary Club Lunches. Usually the selections are good. Salads and lite desserts are great. I've enjoyed my lunches there, but nothing jumps out at me as fantastic.
