Great place if you are looking for good food and great people. It is a small town place, but people passing through are treated well. Kids can color and the owner is a great man.
I noticed that the only poor reviews are from folks that assume Carmody's is an upscale fancy quiet fine dining place. Its not. Its a clean fun irish pub. The bar is separate from the restaurant and its very cozy and yes it can get loud.
This is the most honest review you will get. If you have any type of personality at all, Give Carmody's a try!
The service was good- for the most part. The food on the other hand was not. The Buffalo WIngs were under cooked and had hardly any sauce on them. The waitress gave me a warning that they would be medium. They tasted like someone washed off the sauce- it was gross actually. The chef salad was a poorly put together bed of beat up iceberg lettuce and a few pieces of meat. Not impressed, walked away wondering if I would have salmonella later.
I like Carmondy's. Their nachos are the best in S. Vermont. The Hamburgers are big and delicious. This is the restaurant we go to when we want to go out casually and have a good meal at a reasonable price.
We look foward to going to Carmody's every Labor day and Memorial day weekend for almost 8 years now. The food is great especially the irish nachos. It's a great atmosphere very friendly. We go there with a big group and they are always very accomodating.
if you like frozen food thawed out, you will love Carmody's

I visited Carmodys with my family during the fall foliage last year..although the service was great, the food was no more than average..you could tell that everything came from a freezer bag that has just been thawed out. Probably will not return again..
I was, however, disappointed there was no Shepard's Pie, Bangers & Mash, Pasties (Irish miner tradition) with Guinness Gravy, Fish & Chips or other traditional Irish/British Islander fare. Carmody is a very Irish name and I hoped there would be more Irish in the food.
We had lunch on a sunday afternoon and the restaurant was crowded, we got the last table available. Two servers were doing well and I have no service complaints. The highlight for me was the sweet potato fries, and for my boyfriend the french onion soup. He was disappointed in the Reuben he ordered, but said it tasted fine. I had the Chicken Cordon Bleu sandwich which was nothing more than a grilled chicken breast on a toasted roll with ham and swiss cheese. It was ok, and the price in line with the quality.
